Editing part effectivity details for the EAN
This page allows you to modify and add the part effectivity details of the EAN. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Part Effectivity” link at the bottom of the “Create Advice Note” or “Edit Engg. Advice Note” page.
The “Edit Part Effectivity” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Advice Note Details” group box:

The number identifying the EAN for which the part details must be entered. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the EAN. |
Subject |
The subject of the EAN. |
Enter the following fields in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part # |
The part number of the component or engine (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Note: The first row in the multiline contains the part number of the component or engine for which the EAN has been raised. This row cannot be modified.
The system displays the following in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Serial # Effectivity |
The system displays “All” or “Restricted” to indicate whether the EAN is applicable for all the serial numbers of the selected part or restricted to only certain serial numbers.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a part for deletion or to enter the serial number details.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the parts selected in the multiline..
The system deletes the part number and the serial number effectivity details from the EAN.
Click the “Edit Effectivity” pushbutton to update the modified details.
The system stores the login user ID and the server date along with the other modified details of the EAN.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Serial # Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to modify the part serial number details for the EAN.
Editing part effectivity details for the EAN – An overview
This page allows you to modify and add the part effectivity details of the EAN. The part effectivity for the EAN can be either “All” or “Restricted”. When the part effectivity is “All”, it indicates that the EAN is applicable for all the serial numbers and lot numbers of the part number. When the part effectivity is “Restricted”, it indicates that the EAN is applicable only for the specified serial numbers of the part.
If the EAN has been raised for a component, there must be at least one part number associated to it. You can modify the component details of only those EANs that are in the “Fresh” status. You can also delete a selected part number from this page. The system stores the user ID and the server date along with the other modified details for the EAN.
Note: You can enter part effectivity details afresh in this page when this page is invoked from the “Create Advice Note” page.
