Editing sub-component details
This page allows you to enter sub-component details. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Sub-component Details” link in the “Estimate Customer Order” page.
The “Edit Sub-component Details” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Customer Order Details” group box:
Customer Order # |
The customer order for which the sub-component information must be entered |
Amendment # |
The amendment number of the customer order |
Status |
The status of the customer order |
The system displays the following fields in the “Sub-components Details” multiline:
Line # |
The line number of the sub-component |
Note: The system lists the sub-component details that are already defined.
Enter the following fields:
Position Code |
The position code to which the sub-component is attached (Alphanumeric, 25) |
Part # |
The part number to which the sub-component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. This part number must be already defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Parts Administration” business component. Help facility available |
Note: Ensure that the position code and part number combination is not repeated in the multiline.
Customer Part # |
The customer part number(Alphanumeric, 40) Help facility available |
Part Serial # |
The part serial number of the sub-component (Alphanumeric, 40) Help facility available |
Level Code |
The level code to which the sub-component is attached (Alphanumeric, 150) |

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of job to be performed on the sub-component. The system lists the options:

Execution Facility |
Use the drop-down list box to identify the execution facility for the sub-component. The system lists the following:

Enter the following fields when the “Execution Facility” is selected as “Internal”:
Execution Location |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate the organizational unit in which the maintenance job will be carried out. The system lists all organizational units in which the work centers can be created. The values are listed in this field only when “Internal” is selected in the “Execution Facility” drop-down list box. |
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate the work center in which the service will be performed on the sub-component. The system lists all the work centers that are inherited from the organizational unit selected in the “Execution Location” field. Data selection in this field is mandatory. |
Enter the following fields when the “Execution Facility” is selected as “External”:
RO Location |
Use the drop-down list box to select the organizational unit in which the repair order will be executed. The system lists all organizational units in which the repair order can be created. The values are listed in this field only when “External” is selected in the “Execution Facility” drop-down list box. |
Repair Shop |
The repair shop in which the repair will be carried out (Alphanumeric, 45). Ensure that the repair shop is already defined in the “Supplier” business component. Data entry in this field is mandatory when the 'Execution Location’ is marked as “External”. Help facility available |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the sub-component for deletion, specifying work unit details or associating discrepancies.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline to delete the selected sub-component.
Click the “Edit Sub-component” pushbutton to save the sub-component information.
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select “Edit Sub-component Work Scope” link to enter detailed work scope details for the sub-component.
Editing sub-component details – An overview
This page allows you to edit the details of sub-components for which the maintenance service is applicable. For a sub-component, you can specify the part number, serial number, customer part number, position code and level code. You can identify the type of job to be performed and the facility that would carry out the maintenance job. If the sub-component needs overhauling, inspection or other service that can be performed by the MRO, you can specify the organizational unit and the work center. When the sub-component needs to be sent for repair to an external repair agency, you can specify the repair order location and repair shop.

Enter position code, part number, part serial number, customer part number and level code for the sub-component in the “Sub-components Details” multiline
Identify job execution locations
You can identify the locations in which the maintenance jobs can be carried out.
Select “Internal” or “External” to specify the execution facility
When the execution facility is “Internal”, select the appropriate organizational unit and work center from “Execution Location” and “Work Center #” respectively.
When the execution facility is “External”, select the appropriate organizational unit in the “RO Location” field. Enter the repair shop code in the “Repair Shop” field.
