Initialize Maint. Program & Update Compliance - A summary of the activity
In certain business scenarios, the airline operators may decide to outsource the maintenance activities to be performed on the aircraft and components including line, heavy / hangar maintenance jobs, to MROs or third party service providers. However, the airline operators may be required to chalk out the time schedule of the maintenance program and record compliance and regulatory information for the maintenance tasks executed outside the organization.
The planner devises the schedule of the tasks comprising the maintenance program. The maintenance task schedule for an aircraft or a component may also be altered by the planner due to unforeseen circumstances. This activity also helps to generate the new schedule for execution of such maintenance tasks.
Once the MROs or third party service providers perform the required maintenance, the planner updates the aircraft/component maintenance program with the latest compliance details of the tasks before inducting the aircraft and parts back into the organization. Based on the compliance details, the system generates the next schedule date / time and value for the maintenance objects and updates the details into the corresponding aircraft maintenance program or component maintenance program.
This activity also enables the user to report the discrepancies and snags faced during the course of such maintenance processes.
Screen appearance: Two kinds of view of “Initialize Maint. Program & Update Compliance” screen are available to users – Compact and Detailed. Users can set the screen to the view of their choice using the process parameter “Default view in Initialize Maint. Prog. & Update Compliance” under the entity ‘Compliance’ of the entity type “Tech Records Process Control” in the “Define Process Parameters” activity of Common Master. The “Initialize Maint. Prog. & Update Compliance” screen displays Compact view, if the process parameter is ‘0’. For Detailed view, the parameter value must be ‘1’. The Detailed view will show the entire details of tasks while the Compact view would display only the salient data.
