Display Option

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether time bars need to be grouped by order or by work center.

When you select “By Work Center”, the system displays work center-wise the tasks associated with the customer orders / maintenance objects. When you select “By Order”, the system displays the same tasks pertinent to various customer orders / maintenance objects order wise / maintenance object wise.

If By Work Center is selected as the Display Option, the Customer Order # and the Work Unit # are concatenated and displayed in the list section.

Timeline

More Details

The”Work Center Loading Details” Gantt chart displays the timelines for tasks scheduled for the specified work center. These tasks indicate the maintenance jobs to be performed on a maintenance object with or without reference to a customer order specified by the planner for a specified planning horizon. Planners can identify any work center bottlenecks with regard to tasks and resolve them by,

Note: Planners can analyze / solve bottlenecks associated with problem customer orders based on Job Conflicts Traffic Light display.

Note: Facilities (Tools or Equipments) are not considered for capacity planning. Facility planning can be done as part of execution planning.

Work Center #

Use the drop-down list box to specify the work center to find out the availability of resources. The system displays the active work centers defined in Work Center business component.

Resource Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the resource type. The system defaults this field to “Skills”.

Resource

The system displays the following.

From Date

To Date

The end-date of the planning horizon as displayed in the “Planning Details” group box.

The “Load Graph” multiline displays a graph that depicts the following.

Available Hours

Shown in

Total hours of skill available for allocation to customer orders / maintenance objects.

Available hours = [(Number of Working Days * Normal Time Hours / Day) + Overtime Hours Booked –(No. Of days on Leave * Normal Working Hrs / Day)] * Productivity Factor

Firm Booking Hrs

Shown in

Total estimated hours of tasks to be executed in the work center.

Plan Booking Hrs

Shown in

Total estimated hours of tasks for the customer orders that are not yet processed / confirmed.

More Details

The “Resource Load Graph” facilitates the planner to analyze the resource / skill availability in a work center, which faces resource constraint in executing a customer order.

The system generates bar graph representing a specified skill in a work center, for a planning horizon.

Note: You can find out the problem work centers from the “Work Center Loading Details” multiline.

Planners can now proceed to the “Identify and Resolve Resource Bottleneck” activity to resolve bottlenecks.

Note: At least one row must be available in the “ Work Center Details” Gantt chart.

Case 1: If the “Plan End Date” of a task is modified in the “Work Center Details“ Gantt chart, the “Plan End Date” in the “Job Details” Gantt chart  is updated automatically in the current business component..

Example:

For a Customer Order “C001” comprising the tasks “T1”,”T2” and “T3”.

Plan Start Date of Customer Order (C001) – 01/08/2008; Plan End Date of Customer Order (C001) – 15/09/2008

Plan Start Date for the Task (T1) - 01/08/2008; Plan End Date for the Task (T1) – 15/08/2008

Plan Start Date for the Task (T2) - 16/08/2008; Plan End Date for the Task (T2) – 31/08/2008

Plan Start Date for the Task (T3) – 01/09/2008; Plan End Date for the Task (T3) – 15/09/2008

If the Plan End Date for the Task (T3) is changed from 15/09/2008 to 20/09/2008, then Planned End Date for the Customer Order (C001) is also changed from 15/09/2008 to 20/09/2008.

Case 2: If the “Plan Start Date” of a task is modified in the “Work Center Details” chart, the “Plan Start Date” in the “Job Details” Gantt chart  is updated automatically in the current business component.

Example:

For a Customer Order “C001” comprising the tasks “T1”,”T2” and “T3”.

Plan Start Date of Customer Order (C001) – 01/08/2008; Plan End Date of Customer Order (C001) - 15/09/2008

If the Plan Start Date for the Task (T1) is changed from 01/08/2008 to 28/07/2008, the Planned Start Date of the Customer Order (C001) is also changed from 01/08/2008 to 28/07/2008.
