Plan Capacity – A summary of the activity

This activity acts as a single-point access to plan and schedule execution of customer orders / maintenance objects for a central planner or a work center planner.

The capacity planning function takes into account three factors essential for executing customer orders / maintenance objects:

• Time schedule

• Work center load

• Employee skills

Through this activity, planners can first find out the allocated and available capacities for the above-listed resources with regard to customer orders and, resolve any bottlenecks associated with them. This can be done before planning the execution schedule, to facilitate optimal utilization of resources.
