Report Inspection Findings – A summary of the activity
Components against which the component work order is raised are taken to the shop for carrying out the maintenance work. Before performing the maintenance work, they need to be inspected and confirmed of the discrepancies for which the repair must be done. The inspectors in the shops inspect the defective components or piece parts and report the observations. This activity allows you to report these observations made on the defective component as ‘inspection findings’.
During inspection, you may observe discrepancies that can be associated with the component in this activity. You may encounter problems while authoring work units for rectifying a particular defect. In such a case, you can create an engineering service request and obtain clarifications from the engineering cell regarding the problem encountered.
You can select a component work order and report inspection findings on the component against which the work order is raised. If the component work order is raised against a discrepancy or maintenance report,or a group of discrepancies or maintenance report, you can also associate new discrepancies to it.
This activity also allows you to edit the details of the component work order after generating new discrepancies.

What you can do in this activity
You can record shop inspection findings carried out on the component or the piece part against which the CWO is raised. You can also associate new discrepancies or maintenance reports by using help, to the component work order, which is raised against discrepancies or maintenance reports. You can also generate new discrepancies by entering details in the respective columns of the “Discrepancy Details” multiline in the CWO.
Use the “Report Preliminary Inspection Findings” page to record the inspection findings details.
You may encounter problems while recommending solutions to the defects observed on the faulty component. In such a case, you can raise an Engineering Service Request or ESR. The ESR is raised to seek clarification on the problem encountered.
Go to “Create ES Request” page to create the engineering service request.
