This page allows you to select a component for creating component work order. Tell me more.

The “Select Component” page appears.

Part #

The part number to which the component on which the work order must be raised, belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the part number is already defined in the “Maintain Part Information” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status.

Serial #

The serial number of the component against which the work order is raised (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the serial number is already defined for the part in the “Create Component Record“ activity of the “Aircraft“ business component and is in “Active” status.

Component #

The number identifying the component against which the work order is raised (Alphanumeric, 90). Ensure that the component ID is already defined in the “Create Component ID Record” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status.

Also ensure that the condition of the component is not “Phased Out”.

Note: The system ensures that the component is not attached to any aircraft with “Frozen” record status.

Part #

The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components that have the part number entered here.

Part Serial #

The serial number of the component for which the component work order must be created (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the part serial number entered here.

Component #

The number identifying the component against which the work order is raised (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character.

Part Description

The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with part descriptions that are similar to the description entered here.

ATA #

The number identifying the ATA chapter to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components belonging to the ATA chapter number entered here.

Component Family #

The number identifying the component family to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the component family number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components belonging to the component family number entered here.

Component Condition

Use the drop-down list box to select the condition of the component, which can be “New”, “Overhauled”, "Serviceable" or "Unserviceable". The system retrieves all components that are of the condition selected here.

Warehouse #

Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse from which the component can be issued. The system lists the Issue Warehouses, Core Return Warehouses and Unserviceable Warehouses.

Job Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the job type of the component work order. The system displays the following options:

  • “Component” – Select this option if you want to create work order on a part whose part type is “Component”.

  • “Receipt-Inspection” – Select this option if the work order is being created for the inspection of incoming parts.

  • “Facility” – Select this option if the work order is being created for maintenance of equipment or tools that are used for maintenance of parts.

  • “Piece Part” – Select this option if the work order is being created on a part whose part type is non-component.

  • “Make” – Select this option if the work order is being created for parts that are being fabricated at the work center.

  • “Project” – Select this option to create work orders for projects.

  • “Miscellaneous” – Select this option to create work orders for any other general work.

The system retrieves details of component work orders that belong to the selected job type. The system sets this field to “Component” by default.

Note: If Job type other than “Component” is selected, then, ensure that the object type of the part number or component number is identified as “Non-Component” in “Identify Non-Component Maintenance Objects” activity of the “Aircraft” business component.

The system displays the following fields in the "Search Results" multiline:

Note: The system will not retrieve components that are attached to the aircraft with “Frozen” record status.

Part #

The part number to which the component belongs.

Serial #

The serial number of the component

Component #

The number identifying the component

ATA #

The ATA number to which the component is associated

Component Family #

The number of the component family to which the component belongs.

Condition

The condition of the component which could be “New”, “Overhauled”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable.

Warehouse #

The warehouse in which the component is stocked

Job Type

The job type of the component work order, such as “Component”, “Receipt-Inspection”, “Facility”, “Piece Part”, “Make”, “Project” or “Miscellaneous”.

Part Description

The textual description of the part

Customer Name

The name of the customer of the customer order.

Customer #

The identification number of the customer.

Create Component Work Order - A summary of the activity

This page enables you to select a component for creating a component work order. If you know the component number, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the part number, serial number, component ID, part description, ATA chapter number, component family number, component condition and warehouse number. The search results are displayed in the multiline.
