Basics of using a typical web page

This allows the supervisor to review the work of the employee.

Display Option

Use the drop-down list box to select the option for displaying the reference documents and tasks in the Gantt Chart. The system lists the following values:

  • All - Select this option if you wish to display all the reference documents which are in “Planned”, “In-Progress” and “Completed” statuses.

  • Delayed Start - Select this option to display the reference documents and the associated tasks whose Actual Start Date / Time is greater than the Plan Start Date / Time.

  • Delayed End - Select this option to display the reference documents and the associated tasks whose Actual End Date / Time is greater than the Plan End date / Time.

The system displays “All” by default.

Date From / To

The date range scheduled for the execution of a task. (Date Format). By default, the system displays the system date in the “Date From” field. The system by default displays the “Date To” by adding 7 days to the system date.

On clicking the “Search” pushbutton, the system displays a Gantt Chart which is divided into two panes, right and left.

Left Pane of the Gantt Chart

The system retrieves and displays the work center, aircraft registration number, execution document number and tasks based on the search criteria and “Display Option”, in the left pane of the “Gantt Chart” as shown:

For each Execution Document, various columns are displayed are as follows:

Task #

The code identifying the task.

Task Description

The description of the task.

% Complete

You can enter or modify the percentage of the work completed. Ensure that a positive value ranging from 0 to 100 is entered.

Status

The status of the task.

Est Man Hrs

The estimated man hours for completing the task.

Act Man Hrs

The actual man hours for completing the task.

Phase

The execution phase of the task, which could be one of the following:

  • Post Flight - Indicates that the task is performed as a part of post test flight activities.

  • Preparatory - Indicates that the task is performed as a part of preliminary activities before aircraft is grounded for maintenance.

  • Regular - Indicates that the task is performed as a part of normal maintenance activities carried out in hangar.

Work Area

The work area where the task is executed.

Zone

The zone where the task is executed

ATA #

The ATA # of the task.

Right Pane of the Gantt Chart

On clicking each task appearing on the left pane, the Planned Start date and Planned End Date of the corresponding task appear as bar in the right pane. The user can change the Planned Start Date and Planned End Date by shifting the position of the bar across the Gantt Chart.

After assigning the task to the employees using the “Manage Employee Work” tab page, the actual start date / time and actual end date / time are updated by the supervisor. Once the actual details are updated, the work assignment details and the actual work execution details are displayed in the Gantt Chart as bars in different colors as shown below:

Indicates the total planned duration for completing the task. The percentage of work completed is displayed within this bar.

Indicates the percentage of work completed.

Indicates the actual time booked by the employee.

Indicates the actual time elapsed for the completion of the task.

Document level planned bar.

Note: Ensure that the “Plan Start Date & Time” is not modified for the tasks which are in “In-Progress” status, and both the “Plan Start Date & Time” and “Plan End Date & Time” is not modified for the tasks which are in “Completed” status.

The Bar Chart displays the task details either at “Primary Work Center Level” or “ Execution Work Center level”. By default, the details are displayed at “Primary Work Center Level”. You can use the toggle button provided in the tool bar above the Gantt chart, to change the display level from “Primary Work Center Level” () “Execution Work Center Level” ( ).

Example:

  1. Assume that a Ref.Doc.# ‘TL-000209-2009’ released for Aircraft Reg# ‘N1234’ has 5 Tasks and its Primary Workcenter is P1. Tasks T1, T2, T3 are to be executed in Memphis (P1) and tasks T4, T5 are to be executed in Indy (E1).

  2. Assume that another Ref.Doc.# ‘TL-000210-2009’ released for Aircraft Reg# ‘N1234’ is has 3 Tasks and its Primary Workcenter is P1. Tasks T6,T7  are to be executed in Memphis (P1) and task T8  is to be Executed in Indy (E1).

If the Execution Option is selected as "Primary Workcenter" using the toggle button, the Gantt Chart displays the details in the left pane as shown below:

Tool bar displayed above the Gantt Chart

The various icons displayed in the tool bar above the Gantt Chart are as shown:

 

‘Expand All’ - Expands or hides the nodes under the work center.

 

‘Zoom In’ - Displays the task schedule details day-wise.

 

‘Zoom Out’ - Displays the task schedule details month-wise and year-wise.

 

‘Print’ - Prints the details displayed in the Gantt Chart.

 

'Primary Work Center Toggle button’ - Displays the task details at Primary work center level.

 

‘Execution Work Center Toggle button’ - Displays the task details at Execution work center level.

 

‘Print Package’ - Prints the package document in PDF format.

 

‘Selective Print’ - Launches the E-pubs entry point screen.

 Note: Ensure that at least one record is selected in the Gantt Chart.

Actual Start Date / Time

The actual start date and time of execution of the task. (Date & Time Format). This field must not be entered, if the current execution status of the task is “Cancelled” or “Incomplete”.

Actual End Date / Time

The actual end date and time of execution of the task. (Date & Time Format). This field must not be entered, if the current execution status of the task is “Cancelled” or “Incomplete”.

Change Status

Use the drop-down list box to change the status of the task. Mandatory. The system lists the following values:

  • In-Progress - Select this option to change the status of the task to “In-Progress”.

  • Completed - Select this option to change the status of the task to “Completed”.

  • Closed - Select this option to change the status of the task to “Closed”.

  • Cancelled - Select this option to change the status of the task to “Cancelled”.

  • Pre-Closed - Select this option to change the status of the task to “Pre-Closed”.

The system leaves the field blank by default.

Ensure that this field is “Cancelled” only if the current execution status of the task is “Planned” and “Planning Type” is “UnPlanned”.

File Name

The name of the file which contains the task execution details. (Alphanumeric, 20).

Help facility available.

The system updates the following, on clicking the “Report Work Actuals” pushbutton.

Note: If the option setting is “Start Date”, the system considers the start date of the Ref. Doc. #. If the option setting is “End Date”, the system considers the end date of the Ref. Doc. #. If the option setting is “User Defined”, the system considers the compliance date specified in the “Record Work Unit & Sign-off Information” page.
