Entering storage details for the transfer receipt
This page allows you to specify the storage details of the transfer receipt based on the part number selected. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Storage Details” link at the bottom of the “Edit Stock Transfer Receipt” page.
The “Edit Storage Details” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Stock Transfer Information” group box:
Transfer Receipt # |
The number identifying the transfer receipt for which the storage details must be specified. |
Status |
The status of the stock transfer receipt. |
Enter the following:
Line # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the line number of the transfer receipt for which the storage details must be specified. Mandatory. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the part details of the selected line number.
The system displays the following:

The number identifying the part |
Part Control Type |
The type of part control, which could be “Serial Number” or “Lot Number” or "Both". |
Issued Qty |
The quantity of the part issued. |
Stock Status |
The user-defined stock status assigned to the transfer receipt. |
The system displays the following in the “Storage Information” multiline:

Enter the following:
Warehouse # |
The number identifying the warehouse in which the part is to be stored (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. Ensure that the zone and bin are blank, if the warehouse type is “Free”. Help facility available |
WH – Zone # |
The number identifying the zone in which the part is to be stored (Alphanumeric, 10). This zone number must have been defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in the “Active” status. It is mandatory to enter the field, if the warehouse type is “Normal”. If the warehouse type is “Free, the zone must be left blank. Help facility available |
Bin # |
The number identifying the bin in which the part is to be stored (Alphanumeric, 10). This bin number must have been defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in the “Active” status. It is mandatory to enter the field, if the zone type is “Normal”. If the zone type is “Free”, the bin type must be left blank. Help facility available |
Note: For none-controlled parts with ownership set to "Customer" or "Supplier", the system ensures the following:
The warehouse is mapped to the trading partner as an exclusive storage category in the “Maintain External Stock Allocation” page of the “Storage Administration” business component. This is applicable, if the type of the warehouse is "Free".
The warehouse-zone combination is mapped to the trading partner as an exclusive storage category in the “Maintain External Stock Allocation” page of the “Storage Administration” business component. This is applicable, if the type of the warehouse is “Normal” and the type of the zone is “Free".
The warehouse-zone-bin combination is mapped to the trading partner as an exclusive storage category in the “Maintain External Stock Allocation” page of the “Storage Administration” business component. This is applicable, if the warehouse and the zone are of type “Normal” and if the bin is specified.
Note: For serial number-controlled, lot number-controlled, or both serial number-controlled and lot number-controlled parts with ownership set to "Customer" or "Supplier", the system ensures the following:

The warehouse-zone combination is mapped to the trading partner as exclusive or shared storage category in the “Maintain External stock Allocation” page of the “Storage Administration” business component. This is applicable, if the type of the warehouse is “Normal” and the type of the zone is “Free".

This is applicable, if the warehouse and the zone are of type “Normal” and if the bin is specified.

The unit of measurement in which the stock must be stored |
Enter the following:
Quantity |
The number of units of the part that has been received (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that this field is greater than zero. |
Note: Fractions can be entered, only if the UOM has been set as “Allow Fractions” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component.
Enter the following field below the multiline:
Convert Document Status to Fresh |
Check this box to change the status of the transfer receipt from “Draft” to “Fresh”. |
Note: If the storages details are entered and if the part is serial number-controlled or lot number-controlled, or both serial number-controlled and lot number-controlled, the status of the transfer receipt will be updated from “Draft” to “Fresh”, only if the Serial / Lot Details are entered and the total quantity of the part for the selected line number is the same as the quantity entered in this page.
The system updates the status of the document from “Draft” to “Fresh”, if the “Convert Receipt Status to Fresh” box is checked, and all the details pertaining to the transfer receipt are entered.
Note: At least one row must be entered in the multiline.
The system ensures that, a part, for which “Storage Allocation Mandatory” is enabled in the “Maintain Planning Information” activity of the “Part administration” business component, is not stocked in warehouse of type "Free".
Ensure the following, if the warehouse is of the “Normal” type and the zone if of the “Free” type:
The storage category and rule must be defined in the “Maintain Storage Allocation & Strategies” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component.
The storage category of the part selected can be either “Shared” or “Exclusive” –at the zone level.
The storage rule of the part selected can be either “Also At” or “Only At” at the zone level.
Ensure the following, if the status of the receipt is “fresh” and the warehouse is of the “Normal” type and the zone is of the “Normal” type:
The storage category and rule must be defined in the “Maintain Storage Allocation and Strategies” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component.
The storage category of the part selected can be either “Shared” or “Exclusive” at the bin level.
The storage rule of the part selected can be either “Also At” or “Only At” at the bin level.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the warehouse number for deletion.
Click the "Delete" icon in the toolbar above the multiline, to delete the warehouse number selected in the multiline.
Click the "Update Storage Details" pushbutton to update the storage details for the transfer receipt.
To proceed carry out the following
Select the “Edit Serial / Lot Details” link at the bottom of the page to enter the serial number and the lot number details for the part number selected.
Entering storage details for the transfer receipt – An overview
This page allows you to specify the storage details of the transfer receipt based on the part number selected. The storage details such as the warehouse, the zone and the bin for which the part is allowed is captured in this page. The quantity of the part stored in the warehouse must be specified. Storage details are allowed only for the receipts that are in the “Draft” or the “Fresh” status.
You can also specify the part that is serial number-controlled and lot number-controlled.

You can specify a suitable warehouse, zone or bin for a part received.
In the “Line #” field, select the line number of the transfer receipt which contains the part for which you wish to specify the storage details.
Set the status of the transfer receipt as “Fresh”
You can change the status of the transfer receipt from “Draft” to “Fresh”, so that you can send the receipt for confirmation.
Check the “Convert Document Status to Fresh” box below the multiline, to assign the “Fresh” status to the transfer receipt.
Click the “Update Storage Details” pushbutton.
