This page allows you to update the condition of the component.
Select the “Update Component Condition” link in the previous page.
Note: You can access this page only if the component selected in the previous page is not currently attached to a higher assembly or an aircraft.
The “Update Component Condition” page appears.
The system displays the following fields:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields appear in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the component:
Component # |
The component for which you wish to update the condition (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all components with the number that matches the one entered here. |
Part # |
The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components belonging to this part. |
Part Serial # |
The serial number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the part serial number entered here. |
Manufacturer Serial # |
The serial number given to the component by the manufacturer at the time of production (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the manufacturer serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the manufacturer serial number entered here. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the part description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the part description entered here. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the number entered here. |
Component Family # |
The component family to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the component family number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components whose component family numbers are similar to the number entered here. |
Component Condition - Existing |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the present condition of the component. Select,
Leave the field blank if you do not wish to specify the component condition. |
Component Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component, which could be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”. The system retrieves the components that are of the type specified here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
Note: The system retrieves the ‘active’ components that are not attached to any position code and are in component condition other than “Phased Out”.
Enter the following fields in the “Default Details” group box to specify the default details for the multiline rows:
Component Condition - New |
Use the drop-down list box to select the default component condition that you wish to specify for the multiline rows. The system displays the following options:
Leave the field blank if you do not wish to specify the default condition for new components. |

From Date |
The date from which the component condition was updated (Date Format). Enter this field if you wish to specify default date for the components in the multiline. |
From Time |
The time from which the component condition was updated (Time Format). Enter this field if you wish to specify default time for the components in the multiline. |
Comments |
Any comment pertaining to the component condition change (Alphanumeric, 255). |

Use the drop-down list box to select the new condition for the component. The options available are “Overhauled”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable” and “Phased Out”. However, if the existing condition of the component is,

Data selection in this field is mandatory if you have not selected “Component Condition – New” field in the “Default Details” group box. |

Note: You cannot update the condition of the component to “Phase-out”, if 1) The component is available in stock/warehouse. 2) The component has been issued as Main Core against any component work order, which is not yet preclosed, closed or cancelled. 3) The component has been issued as Main Core against any repair order, which is not yet closed or BER closed. Further, you can change the condition of the component, only if the new condition of the component is applicable for the warehouse associated to the component. |

From Date |
The date from which the component condition is changed (Date Format) Data entry in this field mandatory if you have not entered “From Date” field in the “Default Details” group box. |

Note: Ensure that the combination of “From Date” and “From Time” values are later than or equal to the values displayed as changed date and time and removal date and time.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the component for updating condition.
Click the “Update Condition” pushbutton to update the component condition.
The system updates the component condition history of the component. The system also updates the component condition in the “Stock Maintenance” business component.
Whenever the condition of a component is revised, the system automatically updates the condition of all its child components to the new condition.
For those components that are in “Phased-Out” condition, the system performs the following:
Ensures that the component and all its sub-assemblies are in the “Phased Out” condition in the “Active” configuration.
Updates the status of the components and its sub assemblies as “Inactive”.
Removes all the pending work units of the main component and the child components from the pending tray.
Removes the next schedule dates of the work units associated to the component and its child components and updates the last performed date of the retirement work units in the “Component Maintenance Program” business component.
If the component condition is "Phased Out", the finance postings are made in the "Finance Book Processing" business component, only on the issue of the component (using the "Create Unplanned Issue" activity of the "Stock Issue" business component) with the "Account Usage" field set to "Scrap Account".
Note: For the transaction unplanned issue, the "Account Usage" must be mapped to "Scrap Account" in the "Account Rule Definition" business component.
When the component condition is changed to “Unserviceable”, the system automatically generates a warranty claim for the part # and serial # in “Confirmed” status. However, the effective date for the new condition of the component must not be later than the warranty expiry date consented to in the warranty agreement.
Updates the Component Condition History; sets the From Condition to Component Condition – Existing and To Condition to Component Condition – New.
If a component is reversed from its existing condition of “Phased out” to a new condition of “Unserviceable”, “Serviceable” or “Overhauled”, the system automatically satisfies any pending purchase request for the part # and serial # in “Authorized” status, if available.

Select the “Generate Serviceable Certificate” link to generate the serviceable certificate for a part.
