This page allows you to update the condition of the component.

Note: You can access this page only if the component selected in the previous page is not currently attached to a higher assembly or an aircraft.

The “Update Component Condition” page appears.

The system displays the following fields:

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields appear in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

Component #

The component for which you wish to update the condition (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all components with the number that matches the one entered here.

Part #

The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components belonging to this part.

Part Serial #

The serial number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the part serial number entered here.

Manufacturer Serial #

The serial number given to the component by the manufacturer at the time of production (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the manufacturer serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the manufacturer serial number entered here.

Part Description

The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the part description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the part description entered here.

ATA #

The ATA chapter to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the number entered here.

Component Family #

The component family to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the component family number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components whose component family numbers are similar to the number entered here.

Component Condition - Existing

Use the drop-down list box to specify the present condition of the component. Select,

  • “New” - to retrieve components that are new or purchased recently.

  • “Overhauled” -  to retrieve components that have not been used after servicing.

  • “Serviceable” - to retrieve components that are in usable condition.

  • “Unserviceable” - to components that are in an unusable state.

  • “Phased out” - to retrieve components that have been phased out of operation

Leave the field blank if you do not wish to specify the component condition.

Component Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component, which could be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”. The system retrieves the components that are of the type specified here.

Note: The system retrieves the ‘active’ components that are not attached to any position code and are in component condition other than “Phased Out”.

Component Condition - New

Use the drop-down list box to select the default component condition that you wish to specify for the multiline rows. The system displays the following options:

  • “Overhauled” - Select this option to indicate that some maintenance action or servicing must be done on the component, and the component has not been used after servicing.

  • “Serviceable” - Select this option to indicate that the component is in usable condition.

  • “Unserviceable” - Select this option to indicate that the component is in an unusable state.

  • “Phased Out – Select this option to phase out the component and its subassemblies.

Leave the field blank if you do not wish to specify the default condition for new components.

 

From Date

The date from which the component condition was updated (Date Format). Enter this field if you wish to specify default date for the components in the multiline.

From Time

The time from which the component condition was updated (Time Format). Enter this field if you wish to specify default time for the components in the multiline.

Comments

Any comment pertaining to the component condition change (Alphanumeric, 255).

The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

Component #

The number identifying the component for which you wish to update the condition

Part #

The part to which the component belongs

Part Serial #

The part serial number of the component

Manufacturer Serial #

The manufacturer serial number of the component

Component Type

The type to which the component belongs which could be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”.

Component Condition - Existing

The existing condition of the component which could be “New”, “Overhauled”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable”.

Changed Date

The date on which the component condition was changed last

Changed Time

The time at which the component condition was changed last

Component Condition - New

Use the drop-down list box to select the new condition for the component. The options available are “Overhauled”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable” and “Phased Out”. However, if the existing condition of the component is,

  • “New”, you can set the new condition to  “Overhauled”, “Unserviceable” or “Serviceable”.

  • “Overhauled”, you can set the new condition to “Unserviceable” or “Phased Out”Unserviceable” or “Phased Out”.

  • “Serviceable”, you can set the new condition to “Phased Out”, “Unserviceable” or “Overhauled”.

  • “Unserviceable”, you can set the new condition to “Phased Out”, “Serviceable” or “Overhauled”.

  • “Phased out”, you can set the new condition to “Overhauled”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable”.

 

Data selection in this field is mandatory if you have not selected “Component Condition – New” field in the “Default Details” group box.

Note: You cannot update the condition of the component to “Phase-out”, if 1) The component is available in stock/warehouse. 2) The component has been issued as Main Core against any component work order, which is not yet preclosed, closed or cancelled. 3) The component has been issued as Main Core against any repair order, which is not yet closed or BER closed. Further, you can change the condition of the component, only if the new condition of the component is applicable for the warehouse associated to the component.

From Date

The date from which the component condition is changed (Date Format)

Data entry in this field mandatory if you have not entered “From Date” field in the “Default Details” group box.

From Time

The time from which the component condition is changed (Time Format)

Data entry in this field mandatory if you have not entered “From Time” field in the “Default Details” group box.

Note: Ensure that the combination of “From Date” and “From Time” values are later than or equal to the values displayed as changed date and time and removal date and time.

Comments

Any comment pertaining to the component condition change (Alphanumeric, 255).

Remarks

Any remark pertaining to the component condition change (Alphanumeric, 255).

The system displays the following fields:

Part Description

The textual description of the part

Component Family #

The component family to which the component belongs

ATA #

The number identifying the ATA chapter to which the component belongs

Parent #

The code of the parent from which the component was removed

Parent Type

The type of the parent from which the component was removed which could be “Aircraft” or “Component”.

Position Code

The position code of the parent from which the component was removed

Removal Date

The date on which the component was removed

Removal Time

The time at which the component was removed

Attachment Date

The date on which the component was attached to the parent before removal

Attachment Time

The time at which the component was attached to the parent before removals

  1. Ensures that the component and all its sub-assemblies are in the “Phased Out” condition in the “Active” configuration.

  2. Updates the status of the components and its sub assemblies as “Inactive”.

  3. Removes all the pending work units of the main component and the child components from the pending tray.

  4. Removes the next schedule dates of the work units associated to the component and its child components and updates the last performed date of the retirement work units in the “Component Maintenance Program” business component.

Note: For the transaction unplanned issue, the "Account Usage" must be mapped to "Scrap Account" in the "Account Rule Definition" business component.
