Selecting component family for modification
This page helps you to select a component family for modification. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Component Family” link under the “Aircraft” business component.
The “Select Component Family” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the component family number for which the modification has to be done:

The component family for which the details are to be modified (Alphanumeric, 25). |
Select the “Edit Component Family” link at the bottom of the page to modify the component family information.
Select the “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” link at the bottom of the page to modify the technical and attribute parameters of the component family.
Select the “Edit Consumption & Range Parameters” link at the bottom of the page to modify the consumption and range parameters of the component family.
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a component family. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

The component family for which the details are to be modified (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the component family number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component families whose values are similar to the value entered here. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the component family to be modified, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. The system lists the options, "Active" and "Inactive". The system retrieves all the component families that are in the status specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of component families irrespective of their status. The system displays “Active” by default. |
Part Classification |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the component family to be modified, which could be one of the following: “Rotables”, “Repairables”, or “Controllables”. The system retrieves all the component families whose type is similar to the type specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of all component families irrespective of their type. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Note: The system lists all the component families in the multiline, if all the search criteria fields are left blank.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system fills in the following fields in the multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

The number identifying the component family. |
Component Family Description |
The textual description of the component family. |
Part Classification |
Indicates, the type of the component family which could be “Rotables”, “Repairables” or “Controllables”. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter to which the component family belongs. |
Status |
The status of the component family, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Click the hyperlinked component family number in the multiline, to modify the component family details.

Selecting component family for modification – An overview
You can select the component family to be modified and view its details before modification. If you know the component family number to be modified, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the component family, component type or the status. The details of the selected component family, such as the description, component type, ATA chapter and the status are displayed in the multiline.
