Selecting part number for entering maintenance information
This page allows you to select a part for entering maintenance information. Tell me more.
Select the “Maintain Maintenance Info. for Part” link under the “Aircraft” business component.
The “Select Part” page appears.
Enter the following field, if you know the part number for which the details are to be entered:
Part # |
The part for which the details are to be defined (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the part has already been defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and the part must be of type “Component” and must be in “Active” or “Under Creation” status. |
Select the “Edit Part Information” link at the bottom of the page to add or modify the maintenance activity details for the part.
Select the “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” link at the bottom of the page to define the technical and attribute parameters for the part.
Note: You can invoke this page only for parts of type “Component”.
Select the “Edit Consumption & Range Parameters” link at the bottom of the page to define the consumption and range parameters for the part.

Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a part. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Part # |
The part for which the details are to be defined (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Base Part # |
The base part number of the part for which details are to be defined (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the base part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts whose base part numbers are similar to the value entered here. |
Part Classification |
Use the drop-down list box to select the classification of the part to be retrieved. The system lists the options “Rotable”, “Repairable”, “Controllable” and "None", and sets the field to blank by default. |
Component Type |
Use the drop-down list to select the type of the component to which the part belongs. The system lists the options “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” and “Others” and sets the field to blank by default. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve the details irrespective of the component type. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter to which the part belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the value entered here. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part for which the details are to be defined (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts whose description is similar to the description entered here. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part type. The system lists the options ”Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable”, “Kit” and “Miscellaneous”. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Maint. Info Defined? |
Use the drop-down list box and select “Yes” if the maintenance information is defined for the part. Else select “No”. The system sets this field to “No” by default. |
Note: If you have not entered the search criteria, the system lists all the parts, which are in “Active” or “Under Creation” status, in the multiline.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

The number identifying the part. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Part Type |
The type of the part, which could be ”Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable”, “Kit” or “Miscellaneous”. |
Maint. Info Defined? |
Indicates whether the maintenance information is defined for the part. The system displays “Yes” or “No”. |
Base Part # |
The base part number of the part. |
Part Classification |
The classification of the part, which can be “Rotable”, “Repairable”, "Controllable” or "None". |
Component Type |
The type to which the component belongs, which could be “Engine”, “APU”, "Landing Gear”, “Others”. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter to which the part belongs. |
Check the box in the multiline to select the part for which the maintenance activity details must be defined.

Selecting part number for entering maintenance information – An overview
This page allows you to select a part for which the details pertaining to maintenance activities have to be updated. If you know the part number to be updated, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the part number, description, base part number, ATA chapter and the component type to which the part belongs. The details of the selected part, such as the part number, description, base part, component type and the ATA chapter to which the part belongs, are displayed.
