Defining technical and attribute parameters for a part
This page allows you to add or modify the technical and attribute parameters for the selected part. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” link at the bottom of the “Maintain Maintenance Info. For Part” or the “Select Part” page.
The “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” page appears.
Note: This page can be invoked only for parts of type “Component”.
The system displays the following fields in the “Part Details” group box:

The part for which the technical and attribute parameters must be defined. |

The textual description of the part. |
The system lists the parameters of the component family to which the part is associated in the “Parameter Details” multiline. You can add new parameters or modify the existing parameters by entering the following fields in the multiline:

The identifier of the parameter (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the parameter is of type “Technical” or “Attribute” and is already defined in the “Create Parameters” activity. |
Enter the following field in the “Parameter Details” multiline, if you wish to define new parameters for the part:he system displays the following multiline fields on clicking the “Edit Parameters” button:
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the parameter. The system leaves the field blank if you have entered an attribute parameter. |
Parameter Type |
The type of the parameter, which can be “Technical” or “Attribute”. |
Record the following fields in the “Parameter Details” multiline:
Parameter Source |
Use the drop-down list box to select the parameter source from which the parameter value of the attribute parameter must be updated. The system provides the options “Flight Log”, “Manual” and, “Parent”. The system displays “Manual” by default. Leave the field blank for a technical parameter. |

Value |
The value of the parameter (Alphanumeric, 32). Data entry in this field is mandatory for an attribute parameter. |
The system displays the following field on clicking the “EditParameters” pushbutton.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the parameters for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the parameters selected in the multiline.
Click the "Edit Parameters" pushbutton to update the details of the attribute and technical parameters for the selected part.
Note: The system attaches the technical and attribute parameters to the selected part, for those rows that are not marked for deletion. It also fills in the “UOM”, “Parameter Type” and “Parameter Description” fields in the multiline. The system attaches the parameters defined for the component family to the part on clicking the “Edit Parameters” pushbutton.
Defining technical and attribute parameters for a part – An overview
This page allows you to add or modify the technical and attribute parameters for the selected part. You can define technical and attribute parameters only for parts of type “Component”. If you have associated the part to a component family, the technical and attribute parameters that are defined for the component family are displayed in the multiline. You can add new parameters to the part in the multiline. In the case of attribute parameters, the present value and the parameter source must be specified. The parameter source indicates the mode or source from which the parameter value must be updated.
You can also modify the details of the attribute parameters that are already defined for the part.

You can specify the parameter source, to indicate the source from which the parameter value must be updated.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Flight Log” to indicate that the parameter value has to be updated from the flight log.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Manual” to indicate that the parameter value has to be updated manually.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Parent” to indicate that the parent value has to be updated based on the parent (aircraft or component) value.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Calculated” to indicate that the parameter value is updated based on the formula associated to the parameter.
