Selecting work order for planning
This page allows you to select a work order for planning. Tell me more.
Select the “Plan Work Order” link under the “Hangar Work Order” business component.
The “Select Work Order” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a work order. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Display Option |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you need to retrieve work order or work order tasks. The system provides the option, “By Work Order” and “By Task”. The system displays “By Work Order” by default. |
Select “By Work Order”, if you wish to retrieve all the work orders, for the visit packages, which are in the “Released” or “Partially Released” status. | |
Select “By Task”, if you wish you to retrieve all the work order tasks, for the visit packages, which are in the “Released” or “Partially Released” status. | |
Work Order # |
The number of the work order for which you need to plan material, resource and work groups (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the work order number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders that are similar to the number entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders for which the visit packages are in “Released” or “Partially Released”. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the job status of the work order. The system provides the options, “Fresh”, “Scheduled” and “In-progress”. The system retrieves all the work orders whose job status is similar to the status specified here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of their job status. |
Advance Search ID |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code that identifies a set of advanced search options to retrieve the work order. The system lists all the advance search IDs for the login user in the login organization unit. The system retrieves all the work orders based on the filter criteria specified in the advanced search criteria. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work irrespective of the advance search options. |
Click the “Edit” link alongside, to modify the advanced search criteria.
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work center, to which the work order you need retrieve is attached. The system lists all the 'active' work centers defined in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component for the login user in the login organization unit. The system retrieves all the work orders attached to the work center specified here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the work orders irrespective of the work center. |
Visit Package # |
The number identifying the visit package (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders that are associated with the visit packages whose number is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to search for all the work orders, irrespective of the visit packages. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the aircraft registration number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work orders associated with the aircraft whose number is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to search for all work orders irrespective of the aircraft. |
Sch. Start Date: From |
The starting date, in the range of scheduled start dates, on which the work order is planned to be started (Date Format). The system lists all the work orders that have scheduled start dates on or after the date entered in this field. |
Sch. Start Date: To |
The ending date, in the range of scheduled start dates, on which the work order is planned to be started (Date Format). The system lists all the work orders that have scheduled start dates on or before the date entered in this field. |
Note: Ensure that the “From” date is not later than the “To” date.
Enter the following:
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer who owns the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the Work Orders irrespective of the customer number entered here. The system retrieves only those work orders whose owning agency number matches with the customer number entered here. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the Work Orders irrespective of the customer name entered here. The system retrieves only those work orders whose owning agency name matches with the customer name entered here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to search for the work orders.
Note: The system retrieves only those work orders for visit packages, which are in “Released” or “Partially Released” status. The system retrieves the details according to the option selected in the “Display Option” field.
If the above fields are left blank, the system lists all the work orders, which are in the “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “Inprogress” status, created in the login organizational unit.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:
Work Order # |
The work order retrieved by the system. |
Task # |
The task associated to the work order. This field is left blank, if the “Display Option” is set as “By Task”. |
Status |
The status of the work order, which could be “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In-Progress”. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft in which the work order task is executed. |
Visit Package # |
The visit package created for the aircraft. |
Work Center # |
The work center that is responsible for the execution of the work order. |
Material Plan Status |
The status of the material plan. The system displays one of the following statuses: |
Partially Reserved: If all the parts, whose planning type is “Disposition”, are not reserved for the requested warehouse in the “Disposition Review” activity of the “Stock Planning” business component. | |
Reserved: If all the parts, whose planning type is “Disposition”, are fully reserved for the requested warehouse in the “Disposition Review” activity of the “Stock Planning” business component. | |
Partially Requested: If material request is not raised for all the parts that are required for the work order execution. | |
Requested: If the material request is raised for all the parts that is required for the work order execution. | |
Partially Hard Allocated: If the parts that are required for the work order execution are not fully hard allocated in the “ Create Warehouse“ activity of the “Stock Administration” business component. | |
Hard Allocated: If the parts that are required for the work order execution are fully hard allocated in the “ Create Warehouse“ activity of the “Stock Administration” business component. | |
Partially Issued: If the parts that are required for the execution of the work order are not fully issued. | |
Issued: If the parts that are required for the execution of the work order are fully issued. | |

Material Not Available: If no material requirement exists. |
Material Available Status |
The status of the material availability for the execution of the work order. The system displays one of the following statuses: |
Fully Available: If all the parts required for the execution of the work order are available in the warehouse. | |
Partially Available: If some parts required for the execution of the work order are not available in the warehouse. | |
Not Available: If all the parts required for the execution of the work order are not available in the warehouse. | |
Assignment Status |
The system displays “Assigned” or “Not Assigned”, to indicate whether material has been already assigned for the work order or not. |
Job Type |
The type of the job, which could be “Aircraft”, “On-Wing” or “Component Removal”. |
Task Description |
The description of the work order task. |
Work Order Description |
The textual description of the work order. |
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer, who owns the aircraft. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft. |
Note: The "Customer #" and "Customer Name" fields are applicable only when the aircraft is not self-owned and the customer details are recorded in the system.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the work order for planning materials, resources or assigning resources and work groups.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Plan Material” link at the bottom of the page to plan the material for the selected work order.
Select the “Plan Resources” link at the bottom of the page to plan the resource for the selected work order.
Select the “Assign Resources” link at the bottom of the page to assign resources to the selected work order.
Select the “Assign Crew / Employee” link at the bottom of the page to assign work groups or employees to the selected work order.
Select the “Create Adv.Search ID” link at the bottom of the page to create an advanced search criteria.
Selecting work order for planning – An overview
This page allows you to select a work order for planning. Work orders for the visit packages, which are defined in the “Create Visit Package” activity of the “Visit Package” business component and which are in the “Released” or “Partially Released” status can be retrieved in this page. You can carry out a search based on the work order number, status, advanced search ID, work center, visit package, aircraft, scheduled start and end date of the work order. Details such as work order number, task number, status, aircraft, visit package, work center, material plan status, material available status, assignment status, job type, task description and work order description are displayed.
