Updating UOM conversion information for a part
This page allows you to add the conversion factors for the various combinations of UOMs of the selected part. Tell me more.
Select the “Maintain UOM Conversion” link in the “Select Part #” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked part number in the multiline of the same page.
The “Maintain Conversion Information” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Part Information” group box:

The part for which the UOM conversion details must be entered. |

Click the hyperlinked part number to view its details.
Enter the following fields in the “UOM Conversion Details” multiline:
From UOM |
The code identifying the UOM, for which the conversion factor must be entered (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. The UOM must have been defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status. |

To UOM |
The code identifying the UOM, to which the UOM in the “From UOM” field is converted (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. The UOM must have been defined in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status. This UOM cannot be the same as the “From UOM”. |

Note: The “From UOM” and the “To UOM” cannot be modified.
Conversion Factor |
The conversion factor (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that this value is greater than zero. The reverse conversion factor of the UOMs must also be greater than zero. |
Note: You can define only one conversion factor for any given “From” and “To” UOM combination.
The system displays the following fields in the multiline:

The user who created the UOM conversion information for the part. |
Created Date |
The date on which the UOM conversion information for the part is created |
Last Modified By |
The user who last modified the UOM conversion information for the part |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the UOM conversion information for the part is last modified |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the conversion factor for deletion.
Note: The conversion factor cannot be deleted, if the part has stock available in any of the UOMs.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the conversion factors selected in the multiline.
Click the “Update UOM Conversion” pushbutton to update the conversion details.
The system stores the login user ID and the server date along with the other details, when the conversion is created or modified.
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “View Parts Main Information” to view the main details of the part.
Updating UOM conversion information for a part – An overview
While there can be multiple UOMs defined for the part, there must be only one conversion factor for a given combination of UOMs. For every conversion factor entered, the reverse conversion is also updated automatically by the system.
You are provided with a Help facility to retrieve the UOM. The system stores the login user ID and the server date along with the modification details.
