Enabling Notification Messages
This page can be used to attach messages for notification.
Select the “Enable Notification Messages” link at the bottom of the ‘Enable Notification Messages - Choose Task’ page.
The “Enable Notification Messages” page appears.
Note: The messages can be defined only for the notification type.
The system displays the following fields:
Component Name |
The name of the component for which the notification messages need to be defined. |
Activity Name |
The name of the activity for which the notification messages need to be defined. |
Task Name |
The name of the task for which the notification messages need to be defined. |
Enter the following field:
State Description |
Use the drop-down list box to select the state description. The system lists all the descriptions of the states (both application state and intermediate states) defined for the task. |
Click the ‘Get’ pushbutton to retrieve the state description details.
The system displays the following field in the multiline:
Notification Type |
The notification types that are mapped to the selected task. |
Enter the following fields in the multiline:
Enabled |
Use the drop-down list box to enable or unable the mapping of the notification type to the state. Select "Yes" to enable mapping else select "No". |
Message ID |
The ID of the message, which is to be mapped to the state (Alphanumeric, 5). Select the lens icon near the ‘Message Id‘ to launch the ‘Help on Message‘ page. The message Id can be selected from this page. |
The system displays the following field in the multiline:
Message Description |
The description of the message. |
Enter the following fields in the multiline:
Send Message |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the time frame requirement to send the message. The options include 'After', ’As Required’ and 'Before’. Selecting 'As Required' would enable you to send the message immediately. Selecting 'Before' or 'After' would enable time frame to be specified (as 'Elapse Time' and 'Unit') before sending the message. |
Elapse Time |
The time after which the message must be sent (Time format). |
Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the time unit. The system lists ‘Hours’, ’Days’, ’Months’, and ‘Years’ as options. |
Note: If a value is specified in the "Elapse Time" field, "Unit" field cannot be empty.
Enter the following fields in the multiline:

Use the drop-down list box to send notification through email. Select "Yes" to allow the message to be sent by email else select "No". |
Fax |
Use the drop-down list box to send notification through fax. Select "Yes" to allow the message to be sent by fax else select "No". |
Mobile |
Use the drop-down list box to send notification through mobile phone. Select "Yes" to allow the message to be sent by mobile phone else select "No". |
User Identification Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the basis on which the user is identified. It can be ‘User Identification – Direct‘, ’User Identification – Rule-based’, ’Stored Procedure-based’, or ’Direct span of control’. |
Stored Procedure Name |
The name of the stored procedure (Alphanumeric, 25). Click on the lens icon near the ‘Stored Procedure Name’ to launch ‘Help on Stored Procedure’ page. The stored procedure name can be selected from this page. |
Note: If the ‘User Identification Basis’ is ‘Stored Procedure Based’ then the name of the stored procedure must be specified.
Click the ‘Save’ pushbutton to save the details.
To proceed
Select the “User Identification - Direct” link at the bottom of the page to specify the users to whom the message is to be sent.
Select the “User Identification - Rule Based” link at the bottom of the page to specify users for a resource rule.
You can attach notification messages in this page for the selected task.
