This section enables you to record warranty details for an object.

Warranty Remarks

Any remark or comment pertaining to the warranty terms.

Applicability

Use the drop-down list box to specify the applicability of the warranty. Mandatory. The system lists the following options: The system lists the following options:

  • Contract Level – Select this option to specify that the warranty is applicable for the entire contract.

  • Object Level – Select this option to specify that the warranty is applicable for a specific object.

Eff. Ref.

Use the drop-down list box to specify the object for which you wish to record warranty terms. Data entry in this field is mandatory if “Object Level” is selected as the “Applicability”. The system lists the following options:

  • Part Effectivity - Select this option if you have specified the part as the object effectivity in the “Part Effectivity” tab of the “Manage Customer Contract” page.

  • Aircraft Effectivity - Select this option if you have specified the aircraft as the object effectivity in the “Aircraft Effectivity” tab of the “Manage Customer Contract” page.

Leave this field blank if the “Contract Level” is selected as the “Applicability”.

Eff. Ref. Code

Use the drop-down list box to specify the code corresponding to the object effectivity reference. Data entry in this field is mandatory if a value is selected in the Eff. Ref. field. The system lists the options as follows:

  • All the part effectivity codes having “Eff. Type” set as “Effective” in the “Part Effectivity” tab page of the “Manage Customer Contract” activity of the current business component.

  • All the part / aircraft effectivity codes from the corresponding Part / Aircraft Effectivity Tabs of the “Manage Customer Contract” activity of the “Sales Contract – Services” business component.

Leave this field blank if the “Contract Level” is selected as the “Applicability”.

Ensure that the value selected in this field relates to the value specified in the “Eff. Ref.” field.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Warranty Start Ref. Date

The date from which the warranty period starts for the object. Mandatory.  The system lists the following options:

  • Certification Date – Indicates that the date of issue of the certificate for the object will be considered as the start date for the warranty period.

  • Shipment Date – Indicates that the date on which you ship the goods to the customer will be considered as the start date for the warranty period.

  • Issue Confirmation Date – Indicates that the date on which the issue is confirmed will be considered as the start date for the warranty period

  • SWO Closure Date – Indicates that the date on which the shop work order is closed will be considered as the start date for the warranty period.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Warranty Coverage

Indicates the overhead which the warranty covers. Mandatory. The system lists the following options:

  • Material - Select this option if the warranty covers only on the materials used for servicing an object.

  • Labour – Select this option if the warranty covers only on the labour hours used for servicing an object.

  • Both – Select this option if the warranty covers both the material and labour used for servicing an object.

Warranty Limit Type

The period of time based on which the warranty limit expressed. Mandatory. The system lists the following options:

  • Calendar Based – Indicates that the warranty limit is based on the actual calendar days. Example, warranty period ends at the end of a year from the date of purchase of the object.

  • Usage Based – Indicates that the warranty limit is based on the usage eg. flight hour basis. Example, warranty period ends at the completion of 100 flight hours.

Value

The value for the warranty that is based on the warranty limit type. Data entry in this field is mandatory if a value is selected in the “Warranty Coverage” field.

Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive.

Tracking Parameter

Use the drop-down list box to specify the parameter used for indicating the warranty limit.  This is based on the value specified. Mandatory.

Ensure that only the value “Days” is selected in this field if “Calendar Based” is selected as the “Warranty Limit Type” field.

Warranty Agreement #

The number identifying the warranty agreement.

Effective From

The starting date from which the warranty is effective. Mandatory.

Ensure the following:

The date entered in this field is as follows if “Contract Level” is selected as the “Applicability”:

  • Greater than or equal to the contract “Effective From” date and

  • Earlier than or equal to the “Effective To” date specified in the “Primary Info.” tab of the “Manage Customer Contract” page of the current business component.

The date entered in this field is as follows if "Object Level" is selected as the "Applicability":

  • Greater than or equal to the contract “Effective From” date and

  • Earlier than or equal to the “Effective To” date specified in the “Primary Info.” tab of the “Manage Customer Contract” page of the current business component.

 

Effective To

The end date up to which the warranty is effective. Mandatory.

Ensure the following:

The date entered in this field is as follows if “Contract Level” is selected as the “Applicability”:

  • Greater than or equal to the contract “Effective From” date and

  • Earlier than or equal to the “Effective To” date specified in the “Primary Info.” tab of the “Manage Sale Contract” page of the current business component.

The date entered in this field is as follows if “Object Level” is selected as the “Applicability”:

  • Greater than or equal to the contract “Effective From” date and

Earlier than or equal to the “Effective To” date specified in the “Primary Info.” tab of the “Manage Sale Contract” page of the current business component.
