How to use the web page

Using online help

The “Apply for Leave - FMLA” page appears.

Leave Administration Unit

The organization unit where the leave administration component has been deployed to administer leave for all the employees mapped to the interacting employment units. Mandatory.

Note: Leave Administration Unit is visible, when the screen is launched from Leave Administration component.

Employee

The employee code of the employee who wants to apply for the leave. Mandatory.

Leave Type

From the drop-down list box, select the type of leave that the employee requires. The comb is loaded with the reasons mapped for the leave type. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. Mandatory.

Application Number

A unique number generated by the system, when the leave application of the employee is submitted. 

Leave Application Date

The date on which the leave has been requested. Mandatory. This date should be earlier or equal to the current date.

Status

The status of leave application. The system displays the status as “Draft”.

Leave Reason

From the drop-down list box, select the reason for which the leave has been applied.  Note that it is mandatory to enter a value in this field if you have checked the “Leave Reasons Mandatory” field in the “Create Leave Type” activity in “Leave Definition” component. Note that the leave reasons will be loaded from the " Maintain Leave Reason -Leave Type" activity if the parameters are set in the "Set Leave Parameters" activity. Otherwise the leave reasons are loaded from the quick codes. Mandatory.

Starting Date

The date on which the employee wants the leave. Mandatory.

Leave Year

The leave calendar mapped to the employee.

Ending Date

The ending date of the employee’s leave. Mandatory.

Balance

The balance units that the employee can avail, of the selected leave type. This balance does not take into account the leave units applied for, which have not been authorized. The pending units will be taken into account if the “Consider Pending Application for Leave Balance” is set as “Yes” in the "Set Leave Parameters" activity in the "Leave Definition" component.

Expected Date of Return

The date on which the employee is expected to return after the leave.

Leave Units in Days

The number of units of leave requested by the employee.

Additional Reason

Enter any other reason, if applicable. Note that it is mandatory to enter a value in this field, if you selected the option “Others” from the “Leave Reason” drop-dow n list box.

Remarks

Any remarks pertaining to the leave request. Mandatory while rejecting the application.

The system updates the status as “FMLA Application Submitted”.
