Form 16 – A summary of the activity
This activity enables you to generate a report on Form 16 details of the employee(s) for a tax year. It displays the details of tax deducted at source from the income earned by the employee under the income head “Salaries”. You can view and print the report.
Output to the report: The following details are displayed in the report.
The name and address of the employer
The name and address of the employee
The PAN/ GIR No, TAN of the employer
The PAN/ GIR No of the employee
TDS circle name where the annual return statements under section 206 of Income tax Act must be filed
The period and the assessment year for which the report is generated
Details of the salary paid and any other income earned and tax deducted
Details of tax deducted and deposited into the central government account.
A declaration stating that the details provided are true and correct as per records
Input to the report: You are to specify the following details to generate the Form 16 report for an employee:
The tax unit to which the employee is mapped
The tax year for which the Form 16 must be generated
Note that you can generate this report only after Form 16 processing for the employee is completed.
