Authorizing subordinates assignment competencies

The “Authorize Subordinates Assignment Competencies” page appears.

The system displays the following details about the employee selected in the previous page

Date Format

The date format that is applicable to the login user.

Employment Unit

The employment unit of the selected employee.

Employee Code

The employee code of the employee who was selected in the “Select Subordinates to Authorize Assignment Competency” page.

Assignment No.

 The number of the assignment  allocated to the employee.

Employee Type

The employee type to which he belongs.  For example, employee type can be “Contract” /”Consultant”/”Regular”/Temporary etc;

Position Title

The position title of the employee.

Department Short Description

A short description of the department to which the employee belongs.

Job Title

The job title of the employee.

Request Status

The status of authorization; it can be any one of the following:

  •  “Authorized”: It indicates that the request is authorized

  • “Pending for authorization“. It indicates that the request is pending for authorization.

  •   “Rejected“. It indicates that the request is rejected

Supervisor’s Remarks

Any remark entered by the supervisor while mapping the assignment competency to the employee.

The “Competency Details” multiline displays the competencies already mapped to the subordinate

Competency Code

The code of the competency to be assigned to the employee.

Competency MDL

The minimum desired level(MDL) of a competency indicates the minimum extent to which the competency must be present in an employee. For example, if the MDL for the competency “Communication Skills” is 3 or 4 , it indicates the minimum extent to which the competency must be present in the employee. In this example, the maximum value of the competency is set as 5, in the system parameters.

Competency Wt.

A number to indicate the weightage of the competency, with relation to the other competencies in the multiline. See example.

Note that you can enter zero as the weightage, to nullify the weightage of any competency.

Mandatory

From the drop down list, select one of the following options.

  •  “Yes” indicates that the competency is mandatory for the employee.

  •  “No” indicates that the competency is not mandatory for the employee.

The system displays the following, in each multiline row

Competency Wt(%)

The weightage assigned to the competency, in percentage. Example: There are three competency codes in the multiline: C1, C2 and C3.  Assuming you had entered the following weightages for each competency, in the “Weightage” field in the multiline: 20 for C1, 40 for C2 and 10 for C3.

The system therefore takes the total as 70, and computes each weightage in percentage as follows: C1 = 28.57 %, C2= 57.14% and C3=14.28%

Record Status

The status of the competency assigned to the employee. The status can be one of the following:

  •  “Request for addition”. It indicates that a new record is entered

  • “Request for modification”. It indicates that the record is edited

  • “Request for deletion”. It indicates that the record is processed for deletion.

  • "Current” . It indicates that the  record is authorized.
