From the drop-down list box select the organization unit for which authorization of COBRA acceptance plans have to be performed. The drop-down list box contains list of all the organization units where you have permissions to enroll an employee to a plan. Tell me more |
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the employee code or the employee name. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the employee code or employee name contains. Optionally, you can also enter the joining dates or the participation dates of the employee or the plan. You can also specify the “Program” for which authorization of COBRA acceptance has to be performed. Search based on wild card characters is also supported. The system fetches the employee records that match the combination of search criteria specified. To increase the probability of finding the closest matching records, you can specify values for as many details as possible.
Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.
Employee Code |
The unique employee code of the employee. To view all the employee codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these employee codes. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example: ECC1*, will search for those employee codes that start with ECC1. Other examples are *ECC1 and EC*C1. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. To view all the employee names containing specific characters type in the starting character or characters of these employee names. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example: To get Jonathan, type in JO*, to search for those employee names that start with JO. Other examples are *NATHAN, JO*AN, and JONATH*. |
Use the fields below to specify dates to indicate the probable period during which the employee has joined in the organization.
Date of Joining From |
The date on or after which the employee joined the organization. For example, if you enter 09/16/01, the system fetches list of all the employees who have joined the organization after this date. |
Date of Joining To |
The date till which the employee has joined the organization. For example, if you enter 11/11/01, the system fetches the records of employees who have joined in the organization till this date. |
Note: To indicate the probable period in which the employee has joined, enter both the From and To dates. The system fetches the records of employees who joined during the period.
Use the fields below to specify dates to indicate the probable period and program during which the employee has participated in the plan.
Participation From Date |
The date on or after which the plans are open for enrollment. For example, if you enter 09/16/01, the system fetches list of all the plans that are open for enrollment after this date. |
Participation To Date |
The date until which plans are open for enrollment. For example, if you enter 11/11/01, the system fetches the list of all plans that are open for enrollment until this date. |
Program |
From the drop-down list box, select the program description to which the employee enrolls. |
Select the “ Search” pushbutton.
Note: If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records that satisfy this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are applicable to the selected benefits enrollment unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the records that satisfy the search criteria specified. The system will display only the plans for which Employee has enrolled the COBRA Acceptance through the Employee Self Service Component.

Date of Joining |
The date on which the employee joins the organization. |
Program |
The program description to which the employee enrolls. |
Plan |
The plan description in which the employee has enrolled COBRA acceptance. |
Participation To Date |
The date from which the plan is open for enrollment. |
Participation From Date |
The date until which the plan is open for enrollment |
Acceptance Date |
The date from which the employee is accepted in Cobra enabled plans. |
Status |
The Status Of The COBRA Acceptance plan. The system will display either “Authorized” or “Pending”. “Authorized indicates that the record has already been authorized. “Pending” indicates that the record is yet to be authorized. |
Remarks |
The remarks, comments or opinions entered at the time of recording the COBRA acceptance plan in the Record COBRA Acceptance plan of Benefit Employee Self Service component. |
Select the employee record(s) whose COBRA Acceptance is to be authorized by checking the corresponding record in the “Select” column of the multiline.
Select the “Authorize” pushbutton to authorize the “COBRA Acceptance record.
Note that you can authorize only those records that have status as “Pending”. Otherwise the system will throw an error. You cannot authorize the record that has already been authorized earlier.
You can also enter your remarks, comments or opinions in the “Authorizer’s Remarks” column of the multiline.
Select the employee record(s) whose COBRA Acceptance are to be rejected by checking the corresponding record in the “Select” column of the multiline.
Select the “Reject” pushbutton to reject the “COBRA Acceptance record.
Note that you can reject only those records that have status as “Pending”. Otherwise the system will throw an error. You cannot reject the record that has already been authorized earlier.
