Creating time zones

This page allow you to identify each time zone with a unique number and description. Tell me more

Select the “Create Time Zone” link under the “Common Master” business component.

The “Create Time Zone” page appears.

Enter the following fields in the “Time Zone Details” multiline:

Time Zone	A unique code to identify the time zone (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. Ensure this value is unique across the organizational units.
Zone Description	The textual description of the time zone (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory.
Difference From UTC	The time difference, in hours or minutes, between the time zone and the UTC (Decimal).
Time Unit	Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement for time difference between the time zone and UTC. The system provides the options, “Hours” and “Minutes”. The system sets the field to “Hours” by default.

Check the box in the multiline to select the time zone for which you need to update the day light saving time details.
Click the “Create Time Zone” pushbutton to create the time zones.

The system creates the time zones with the status “Active”. The system updates the login user name and sets the current server date as the created date.

To proceed, carry out the following

Select the “Edit Day Light Saving Time Details” link at the bottom of the page to enter the day light saving time details for the selected time zone.

What you can do in this page

Create different time zones and specify the unit of measurement for time

You can create different time zones by defining a unique code. You can associate these time zones with stations to identify the time zone to which the station belongs. You can specify the time difference between the time zone and UTC, and set the unit of measurement of time.

Enter a unique code for the time zone in the “Time Zone” field.
Specify the difference in time, with respect to UTC, in the “Difference From UTC” field.
Select the appropriate option in the “Time Unit” field, to set the unit of measurement of time.
