Configuring Dual Authentication

   Smart Card Configuration - A summary of the activity

The “Configure Dual Authentication” page appears.

No. of invalid Entries

The number of times a user is allowed to input incorrect PIN before the account gets locked and becomes inaccessible. Mandatory.

Note: The number of invalid entries that you specify must be between 1 and 8.

No. of digits for PIN

Use the drop-down list box to specify the number of digits comprising PIN. The drop-down list box displays the following: 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.

By default, this field is set to 4.

The “Configure Functions” multiline displays the following:

Application Group    

The user group for which dual authentication is being configured, such as Desktop, Laptop, etc.

Entity

Indicates the area of operations for which dual authentication is being set, such as Shop Work Order.

Action

The task for which authentication is being configured, such as

  • Approve and Print "Part Tag "

  • Approve and Print "Cert. of Maintenance "

  • Approve and Print  "Cert. of Conformity"

  • Approve and Print "Cert. of Calibration"

  • Sign-off

  • Reject Task

  • Void Task

Authentication Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of authentication mandated for task signoff and issue of CoM. Mandatory. The drop-down list box displays the following:

  • Not Required

  • Login Password

  • Login Password and PIN

  • PIN

Created By

The name and code of the employee who created the record.

Created Date

The date on which the record was created by the employee.

Last Modified By

The name and code of the employee who most recently modified the record.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the record was modified by the employee.
