Creating rate table - variable based
Select the “Create Rate Table” link from the left pane.
The “Create Rate Table” page appears.
Select the “Create Rate Table – Variable Based” link at the bottom of the page. Ensure that you haven’t entered any data in the “Create Rate Table” page. If you have entered, the system will not launch this page.
The “Create Rate Table – Variable Based” page appears.
Enter the following fields.
Rate Table Code |
A unique code to identify a rate table. |
Rate table Short Description |
A brief description to identify the rate table. |
Rate table Description |
The full description of the rate table. |

For example, if you have identified the rate table code as “RA002”, you can enter “Rttbl” as the short description and “Rate table” as the long description. |
Currency |
From the drop-down list box select the currency in which the premium rates are computed. The drop-down list box displays list all the currencies defined CCUR component of financials and select. |
Frequency |
From the drop-down list box select the frequency for which the rate table is created. The drop-down list box contains the following values viz. "Daily", "Weekly", "Biweekly", "Semimonthly", "Monthly", "Quarterly", "Semiannually", and “annually". One among them must be selected. |
Effective From Date |
The date from which the rate table will be in effect. |
Effective To Date |
The date until which the rate table will be in effect. |
Country |
By default, the system will display all the countries defined in the CCUR Component of financials. Select the country for which the rate table is applicable. |
State |
From the drop-down list box select the state for which the rate table is applicable. The drop-down list box will display all the states defined for the specified country. |
To create a variable based rate table
Select the variables from the drop-down list boxes to create a rate table.
In
the “Datatype Integer” group box there are six drop-down list boxes containing
same six variables viz., “Age From”, “Age To”,
“Service Months From”, “Service Months To”, “No. of Dependents – From”
and, “No. of Dependents – To”.
Select the required variables from the drop-down list boxes.
Similarly the “Datatype numeric group box contains six drop-down list boxes containing different attributes namely, “Coverage amount from”, “Coverage Amount To”, “Salary From”, “Salary To”, and a blank value. Select the required ones.
You can also find another set of variables in the data type character group box namely, “Coverage Level”, “Union Affiliation Code”, “Gender”, “Highly Compensated Employee”, “Employment Type”, “Marital Status” and a blank value.
You must select the variables that will constitute a rate table from the drop-down list boxes.
Select the “Set” pushbutton, to set the variables for the rate table. As you select the pushbutton all the drop-down list boxes will display only the selected values in the corresponding columns. The columns in the multiline will take the properties specified in the respective columns.
You can enter the values for the attributes selected in the respective columns.
You can also enter the priority based on which the system will determine the rates applicable for an employee in the “Priority” column of the Edit Rate Table. Priority is a number to indicate the sequence in which the variables will be considered in determining the employers or employees contribution. Example, 1, 2, 3,4. Entering the priority is applicable when you intend to enter more than one factor in determining rates for employer or employee’s contribution towards the premium amount.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details entered.
To Change the variables of the rate table
Select the “Reset” pushbutton to change the variables of the rate table.
As you select the pushbutton, all the values selected in drop-down list boxes will get populated. You can select the required variables and select the “Set” pushbutton.
Note that you can change the variables of the rate table only before saving the details. If you have saved the details, you must select the “Edit Rate table” to make necessary modifications.

Note: The actual mapping of the rate table record to the organizational units is carried out in a separate page called “Map Org. Units”.
Enter your comments, opinions, etc. in the “Comments” field.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details entered.
As you select the pushbutton, the system saves all the details and displays the sum of the contributions made by the employee and the employer either in the “Total Contribution Smoker” or “Total Contribution Non- Smoker” columns of the multiline.
