Selecting a plan type for view
The “Select Plan type for View” page appears.
The system displays the following.

To select through Direct Entry
Use this method if you know the complete code of the plan type code.
Enter the code of the plan type that must be viewed, in the “Plan Type Code” field.
Select the “View Plan Type ” hyperlink.
The “View Plan Type” page appears. All details of the selected record are displayed.
To view the plan type record refer to the topic “Viewing Benefit Plan Type Details”.
To select through Search Criteria
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the plan type code or the plan type description. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the plan type code or description contain. Optionally, you can specify the “Benefits Program to which the plan type is mapped. You can also specify the “Plan category”, “Effective From Date” and “Effective To Date” fields, to narrow your search. Search based on wild card characters is also supported.
Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.

From the drop-down list box select the program to which the plan type is mapped. |
Plan Type Code |
The unique code that identifies a plan type. To view all the plan type codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these plan codes. |
Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example: Plan type1*, will search for those plan type codes that start with Plan type 1. Other examples are *AN1 and PL*N1. | |
Plan Type Short Description |
The description of the plan types. To view all the plan type descriptions containing specific characters type in the starting character or characters of the plan type descriptions. |
Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example: Exe*, will search for those plan type descriptions that start with Exec. Other examples are *ec and Ex*c. | |
Plan Type Description |
The long description of the plans. To view all the plan type descriptions containing specific characters type in the starting character or characters of the plan type descriptions. |

Status |
From the drop-down list box select the status of the plan type. |
Use the fields below to specify dates to indicate the probable period for which the plan type is effective.
Effective From Date |
The date on or after which the plan type is in effect. For example, if you enter 09/16/01, the system fetches the records of all the plan types that are effective from the specified date. |
Effective To Date |
The date on or before which the plan type is in effect. For example, if you enter 09/16/01, the system fetches the records of all the plan types that will be in effect till the specified date. |
Note: To indicate the probable period for which the plan type is effective, enter both the From and To dates. The system fetches the records of all the plan types that are effective during the period.
Plan Category |
From the drop-down list box select the plan category to which the plan type is mapped. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton to get the details.
Note: If only one search
criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records that satisfy
this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch
the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select
the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are
benefits definitions unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Program |
The program description to which the plan type is mapped. |
Plan Type Code |
The unique code that identifies the plan type. |
Plan Type Short Description |
The short description of the plan type. |
Plan Type Description |
A full description of the plan type. |
Status |
The status of the plan type. |
Effective From Date |
The date from which the plan type is effective. |
Effective To Date |
The date until which the plan type is effective. |
Plan Category |
The plan category to which the plan type is mapped. |
