This page allows you to associate the sub-components to the component warranty reference created for the component. Tell me more.

The “Associate Sub-Component” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the "Warranty Reference Details" group box:

Warranty Reference #

The number identifying the warranty reference to which you wish to associate the sub-components.

Status

The status of the warranty reference, which could be "Fresh".

Supplier #

The code identifying the supplier.

Supplier Name

The name of the supplier.

Part #

The number of the part whose sub-components must be associated to the warranty.

Part Serial #

The serial number of the component.

Note: If no sub-component is associated with the warranty reference, the system retrieves all the sub-components of the main component from the “Configuration” business component.

Part #

The number of the part that you wish to associate to the warranty reference (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the part number is already defined in the login organizational unit.

Part Serial #

The serial number of the component that you wish to associate to the warranty reference (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the serial number is already defined for the part in the “Create Component Record” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status.

Component #

The number of the component (Alphanumeric, 90). Ensure that the component is already defined in the “Aircraft” business component and is not mapped to any other warranty reference.

Note: The part number and serial number combination must be of part type “Component” in the “Aircraft” business component. Ensure that the combination is unique for each sub-component given in the multiline.

The system displays the following fields:

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

The system updates the sub-component association and sets the source of all the sub-components as “Component”.

The system ensures that the component which is associated in the sub-component list, is not already mapped to any other valid warranty reference in "Confirmed" status as a sub component, or does not have separate valid warranty reference in "Confirmed" status for the warranty reference duration entered.

Edit Component Warranty – A summary of the activity

While defining warranty information for a component, the sub-components attached to the component can also be associated to the component warranty.

The warranty terms and conditions that are applicable for the component also become applicable for the sub-components associated to it. You can enter the part number and part serial number of the sub-component and associate it to the component warranty.

Note: You can associate the sub-components only to a component warranty reference document in “Fresh” status.
