Select the “Create Component Warranty” link under the “Component Warranty” business component.

The “Select Component” page appears.

Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a component. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Part #	The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components that have the part number entered here.
Part Serial #	The serial number of the component for which the component warranty must be created (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the part serial number entered here.
Part Description	The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with part descriptions that are similar to the description entered here.
Component #	The ID of the component for which the component warranty must be created (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the ID in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with component IDs that are similar to the value entered here.
Component Family #	Use the drop-down list box to select the number identifying the component family to which the component belongs. The system lists all the component family numbers created in the "Create Component Family" activity of the "Aircraft" business component. The system retrieves all components belonging to the component family number selected here.
ATA #	Use the drop-down list box to select the number identifying the ATA chapter to which the component belongs. The system lists all the ATA chapter numbers created in the "Create ATA Chapter" activity of the "Aircraft" business component. The system retrieves all components belonging to the ATA chapter number selected here.
Supplier Part #	The supplier part number of the component (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the supplier part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the supplier part number entered here.
Component Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component, which can be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” and “Others”. The system retrieves all components that are of the type selected here.
Supplier #	The code identifying the supplier of the part (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the supplier code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the supplier code entered here.
Supplier Name	The code identifying the name of the supplier of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the supplier name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all components with the supplier name entered here.

The system displays the following fields in the "Search Results" multiline:

Part #	The part number to which the component belongs.
Serial #	The serial number of the component.
Component #	The number identifying the component.
ATA #	The ATA chapter to which the component belongs.
Part Description	The textual description of the part.
Component Family #	The number identifying the component family to which the component belongs.
Component Type	The type of the component, which can be “Engine”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”.
Supplier Part #	The part number given to the component by the supplier.
Supplier #	The code identifying the supplier of the part.
Supplier Name	The name of the supplier.

Check the box in the "Select" column of the multiline, to select the component for creating the warranty details.

To proceed, carry out the following:

Select the "Create Warranty" link, to create the warranty details for the selected component.

Selecting component for creating warranty - An overview

You can search for a component by providing the following filter criteria:

Part number to which the component belongs.
Part serial number of the component
Textual description of the part
ATA chapter number to which the component is associated
Component family number
Component type
Part number assigned to the component by the supplier
Code of the supplier who supplied the part.

The system retrieves the details of the component according to the filter criteria specified.
