Create Part Warranty Agreement – A summary of the activity
Warranty is an approved performance level of items or services supplied by a particular supplier to an operator. The terms and conditions of the warranty are decided beforehand. This is captured as a part warranty agreement for the parts supplied by a supplier.
Creation of agreement
This activity allows you to create a part warranty agreement. A part warranty agreement is a document that contains the warranty terms and conditions defined for the parts supplied by the supplier. This document defines all the permissible conditions within which the warranty claim can be made on the part. Default warranty validity and Authorized Repair Shop for each Part and Warranty Type can be specified here.
The part warranty agreement creation involves the following steps:
Creation - The part warranty terms and conditions are entered and the agreement is created.
Confirmation - The part warranty agreement is confirmed in this stage.
Amendment - You can modify the details of the 'confirmed' agreement.
An amendment number is created whenever an agreement is amended. The status of the agreement changes to "Pending Confirmation". Once it is confirmed, the agreement moves to "Confirmed" status again.
Agreement statuses
The various statuses that a part warranty agreement attains are as follows:
Fresh - when it is created in the "Create Part Warranty Agreement" activity.
Confirmed - when it is confirmed in the "Confirm Part Warranty Agreement" activity.
Pending Confirmation - when it is waiting for approval after amendment in the "Amend Part Warranty Agreement" activity.
Cancelled - when it is cancelled in the “Confirm Part Warranty Agreement” activity.
Amended – when a confirmed agreement is amended in the “Amend Part Warranty Agreement” activity the Preceded agreement takes this status.
Under Amendment – when a part agreement, which is already amended after it was confirmed in the “Amend Part Warranty Agreement” activity.

Create Part Warranty Agreement
The part warranty agreement that defines the warranty terms and conditions for the part is created. The warranty claim can be made based on this agreement. You can select the supplier with whom you wish to enter into an agreement for warranty on parts, and create the agreement.
Use the "Select Supplier" page to select the supplier for creating part warranty agreement.
Go to "Create Part Warranty Agreement" page to create the part warranty agreement.
For a set of parts supplied by the supplier and for each warranty type, you can define default warranty validity in terms of period and usage parameter values. These default warranty values can be used while creating Warranty Reference # for each component. You can specify the values for the different parameters based on which warranty is tracked and defined for the part.
Use the "Create Part Warranty Agreement" page, to create the part warranty agreement.
Go to "Set Default Warranty" page to set the default warranty validity options.
Associate authorized repair shops
The authorized repair shops for carrying out the repair work on the defective component can be associated to the part for each warranty type.
Use the "Create Part Warranty Agreement" page, to create the part warranty agreement.
Go to "Associate Authorized Repair Shop" page to associate the authorized repair shops to the part number.
