Create Quick Parts - A summary of the activity

This activity enables quick and easy creation of a part (which is not of type “Component”) in a single transaction.
A part is unique in an organization. It is usually created based on the illustrated parts catalogue. The original equipment manufacturer details, the design details, the basic and the physical data of the part are always unique for a part. Information related to the planning requirement, purchase, sales and maintenance of the part is specific to the organization unit. A purchase or sales personnel belonging to a specific organization unit usually defines the purchase and sales information of a part. The material controller belonging to a specific organization unit defines the planning requirement information of the part.
You can enter the following information for a part and create it:
General information
Basic details
Maintenance details
Planning information
Usage and source details
Default storage details
Purchase information
Ordering location information
Sales information
You can also copy details from an existing part.
The system sets the reference status of the part to “Active” after the information entry is complete.

What you can do in this activity
You can create a part by entering the general information, maintenance information, basic details, planning information, usage and source details, default storage details, purchase information, ordering location details and sales information for the part. You can also copy the details from an already created part.
Go to “Create Part Information” to create the quick part details.
Planning information include the planning method, reordering details and the warehousing details of a part. Based on this information, the purchase and sales information of the part is updated.
Go to “Maintain Planning Information” page to define the planning details for the part.
Maintain Maintenance Information
The purchase information of the part can be entered when the source of the part is specified as ‘purchase’ in the “Maintain Planning Information“ activity.
Go to “Maintain Purchase Information” page to define the purchase details for the part.
The sales information can be entered when the usage of the part is specified as ‘saleable’ in the “Maintain Planning Information“ activity.
Go to “Maintain Sales Information” page to define the sales details for the part.
You can modify the details of the part that are already been defined.
Go to “Edit Part Main Information” page to modify the part details.
