Updating Advanced Part Effectivity for components

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

Page Overview: The Edit Advanced Part Effectivity page will enable the users to setup enhanced component effectivity for MCR by specifying details including part #, part # range, serial #, MSN # range, component #, Mod #, Mod # range, manufacturing date range and repair order date range. This will be in addition to the part effectivity that can be set for MCR on the basis of Part #, Part Description and Manufacturing # in the Edit Recommended Part Effectivity” page for MCR documents.

The “Edit Advanced Part Effectivity” page appears.

Note: This page will be solely for viewing, if you have accessed the “Edit Advanced Part Effectivity” link from the View Maintenance Change Request page.

The page header displays the following details

Doc Type

The type of the engineering document.

Doc #

The unique identifier for the MCR.

Revision #

The revision number of the MCR.

Subject

The subject matter of the MCR.

Source Doc Type

The document type of the source document for the MCR.

Applicability

The applicability of the MCR to a maintenance project, such as Aircraft, Component or Engine.

Part #

The specific part that is effective for the MCR. You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts with number similar to the number entered here.

Help facility available

From Part #

The first part # in the part # range that is effective for the MCR. All the parts in the range including the first part # will become effective for the MCR.

Help facility available

To Part #

The last part # in the part # range that is effective for the MCR. All the parts in the range including the first part # and the last part # will become effective for the MCR.

Help facility available

Serial #

The specific serial of the part that is effective for the MCR.

MSN  - From

The first manufacturing serial # in the manufacturing serial # range. All the serial # of the part in the range including the first serial # will become effective for the MCR.

MSN – To

The last manufacturing serial # in the manufacturing serial # range. All the serial # of the part including the first and last manufacturing serial # in the range will become effective for the MCR.

Component #

The component of the part that is effective for the MCR. You can enter the component number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. All the components with number similar to the number entered here will be retrieved and will become effective for the MCR.

Mod#

The Mod # performed on part #. You can enter the Mod number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts with current Mod# that is similar to the number entered here.

The MCR will become applicable for the parts on which the Mod # was performed.

From Mod#

The first Mod # in the range of Mod # performed on parts. Those parts on which all Mod# in the range including the first Mod# were performed will become effective for the MCR.

To Mod#

The last Mod # in the range of Mod# performed on parts. Those parts on which all Mod # in the range including the first Mod # and the last Mod# were performed will become effective for the MCR.

Aircraft Model #

The aircraft model of which configured parts are effective for the MCR.

Mfg. Date From

The start date of a specific manufacturing period.

The MCR becomes applicable on those parts manufactured in the specified period.

If the Mfg. Date From is not available, all parts manufactured before the Mfg. Date To date will become effective for the MCR.

Mfg. Date To

The end date of a specific manufacturing period.

The MCR becomes applicable on those parts manufactured in the specified period. If the Mfg. Date To is not available, all parts manufactured after the Mfg. Date From date will become effective for the MCR.

Repair Date From

The start date of a specific period in which parts were received from repair agencies.

The MCR will become applicable for those parts received from repair agencies in the specified period.

Repair Date To

The end date of a specific period in which the parts were received from repair agencies.

The MCR will become applicable for those parts received from repair agencies in the specified period.

Repair Agency

The repair agency from which the parts were received back into the organization.

The MCR becomes applicable for all those parts received from the repair agency.

Restricted?

Indicates whether the part is fit enough for operations. Displays:

  • Yes, if the part has been restricted from usage as stipulated by SB or AD

  • No, if the usage of the part is not restricted in operations

Restriction Code

Use the drop-down list box to select the restriction for the restricted part. The drop-down list box displays all the Active entities defined under the entity type Restriction Code in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master.

Note: This field is mandatory, if you have selected 'Yes' in the “Restricted?” field.

Restriction Remarks

More details on the restriction imposed by the restriction code on the transactions involving the part # - serial # impacted by the MCR.

Note: This field is mandatory, if you have selected Yes - Generic in the “Restricted?” field.

User Defined 1

Additional information on the advanced part effectivity of the part.

User Defined 2

Additional information on the advanced part effectivity of the part.

User Defined 3

Additional information on the advanced part effectivity of the part.

User Defined 4

Additional information on the advanced part effectivity of the part.

All the parts / components matching the specified attributes in the above multiline become effective for the MCR.

Retrieval of repair orders for deriving advanced effectivity

The “Advanced Part Effectivity Details” multiline retrieves repair orders for a part # - Serial # combination based on the value defined for the process parameter "No. of latest repair orders to be considered for advanced part effectivity computation" under the entity type Eng. Doc. type and the entity All Eng. Doc in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master,

The users can set up a value between ‘1’ to ‘10’ for the process parameter. In the event of the user not specifying any value for the process parameter, the default value is set to ‘3’. The value implies that the system will retrieve as many most recent repair orders as the value set for the process parameter associated with the chosen repair agency in the page. The users can set advanced part effectivity for the components associated with these repair orders. These components for which advanced effectivity has been set will be retrieved in Impact Assessment, PCR and Engineering Document pages.
