Specifying kit requirement information for the MCR
This page allows you to define the details of the kits required for executing the MCR . Tell me more
Select the “Edit Kit Information” link at the bottom of the ““Create Maintenance Change Request”, “Edit Maintenance Change Request” or “Revise Maintenance Change Request” page.
The “Edit Kits Requirement Information” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “MCR Details” group box:
MCR # |
The number identifying the MCR for which you wish to specify the kit requirement information. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the MCR. |
Subject |
The textual description of the MCR. |
Source Doc Type |
The type of the source document to which the MCR belongs. |
Part Identifier |
The identifier of the part, which could be “Internal” or “External”. |
Enter the following field in the “Group Details” group box:
Applicability Group # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the group of aircraft, component or engine for which the MCR is applicable. The system lists the group numbers created in the “Aircraft Effectivity” page if the MCR is applicable for “Aircraft”, or the group numbers defined in the “Component Effectivity” page if the MCR is applicable for “Component” or “Engine”. Leave this field blank, if you wish to enter the kit requirement information with respect to the MCR and revision number combination. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton:

Default Stock UOM |
Check this box if you wish to specify the stock UOM for the part numbers. If this box is checked the system saves the stock UOM defined for the part in the “Part Administration” business component on clicking the “Edit Kit Information” pushbutton. |
The system displays the multiline fields if the kit requirement details have already been defined for the applicability group.
Enter the following fields in the “Kit Details” multiline to add kits:
Kit Part # |
The number identifying the kit part required for carrying out the modification specified in the MCR (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the kit part number is unique in the multiline. Once entered, this field cannot be modified. Help facility available. |
Note: If you have already defined the kit part requirement details for a particular applicability group, then ensure that the kit part number is not defined across the applicability groups.
Part Description |
The textual description of the kit part (Alphanumeric, 150). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the kit part number is not already defined in the “Part” business component. |
Note: For an internal part that has already been defined, if you have not entered the description, the system fills in the description from the “Part” business component, on clicking the “Edit Kit Information” pushbutton. For a part supplied by the supplier, the system fills in the description of the equivalent part number defined in the “Part” business component. If the part is supplied is new, entry of part description is mandatory.
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement for the kit part. The system lists all the active UOM codes defined in the “UOM” business component. Selection of value in this field is mandatory if you have entered the part number or quantity and not checked the “Default Stock UOM” box. |
Quantity |
The total number of kit parts required (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |
Currency |
Use the drop-down list box to select the currency for the unit price. The system lists all the active currency codes defined in the “Currency” business component. The system sets this field to the base currency to which the login organizational unit is associated. |
Unit Price |
The unit price of kit part (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |
Supplier Name |
The name of the supplier from whom the kit can be purchased (Char 45). Help facility available. |
Purchase Lead Time |
The time required for purchasing the kit (Decimal). |
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the time unit for the time required for purchasing the kit. The system lists the options “Days”, “Weeks”, “Months” and “Years” and sets this field to “Days” by default. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the kit part for which you wish to define the kit composition details.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the kit parts selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Kits” pushbutton to update the kit details.

Specifying kit requirement information for the MCR – An overview
The configuration changes recommended by the MCR in the aircraft or component are one-time processes and they require new tools and equipment to carry out the modifications. The supplier or the OEM provides the necessary equipment information for executing the modification, in the form of a “Modification Kit”. The modification kit is a “Bill of Material” that lists all the components and spare parts together with the quantity that is required for complying with the modification.
This page allows you to define the details of the kits required for executing the MCR. You can provide a unique identifier for the kit part and specify details such as description, unit of measurement for the kit part, quantity, currency, unit price, supplier name, time required for purchasing the kit and the time unit. You are also provided with the option of specifying the default Stock UOM defined for the parts in the “Part Administration” business component.
The details of the parts that constitute the kit can be entered in the “Edit Kit Composition Information” page.

You can enter the details of the kits required for carrying out the MCR execution. You can enter the details with respect to the MCR or MCR and applicability group combination.
Select the applicability group number in the “Applicability Group” drop-down list box.
Enter the details of the kits required for the MCR in the “Kit Details” multiline.
