Create MCR Quick Codes – A summary of the activity

Maintenance Change Request - An Overview

Quick codes are user-defined values, used to categorize details based on certain characteristics. The basic quick code types for maintenance change request are defined in the system. You can define the quick code values for each of these quick code types, using this activity. These quick codes are later used in other activities, where the details are classified. The classification of details, based on quick codes, is to enable effective data analysis and reports generation.

The basic quick code types such as “Source Category”, “Reason Category” and “User Status”, "MCR Class" are defined in the system. These quick code types categorize the sources that release the MCR, the reasons for issuing the MCR and the user-defined status for the MCR. Quick codes can be defined under each of these quick code types. For example, the quick code type “Source category” can contain the quick codes “Supplier”, “OEM” etc.

You can enter a unique identifier for the quick code and provide a description for it. The quick code should be unique for the organizational unit. The system assigns the "Active" status as soon as the quick code is created and sets the created date and time to the server date and time.
