Plan Gate Maintenance – A summary of the activity

Line Planning and Control - An Overview

Pages inside the activity

What you can do in this activity

After their arrival or before departure, flights are halted at the gates in the terminals of the airport stations for specified duration. Generally, line maintenance activities are performed, when the aircraft arrives at a station. This activity allows you to plan the line maintenance activities to be performed on an aircraft at the designated gate, based on the routing plan.

In this activity, you can create or update a line package consisting of multiple work units that are defined for the aircraft registration number, update the routing plan details of the flight number and leg number, and assign work groups to different gates, to execute the line package on the flight.

This activity also allows you to assign a set of skilled employees to a gate at work unit level or line package level, for specified time period.

Define gate plan

You can define details such as time of arrival, time of departure and stopover time of the flight at a particular gate, in the “Gantt Chart”. You can also modify the assignments of flight to the gates or vice-versa.

Define line package

The work units from different sources that are pending against the aircraft registration number, can be identified and assigned to the line package based on the associated discrepancies and remaining flight hours and flight cycles.

Create technical log

You can create a technical log to execute the line package.

Cancel line package

The line package associated to a specified flight, leg and flight date, can be cancelled.

Reassign line package

The work units of the line package can be reassigned to another line package.

Update routing plan

The routing plan can be updated for different flight and leg number combinations.

Assign work group to gate

You can assign a work group consisting of multiple employees to a gate for a specified period to perform the line maintenance activities for any aircraft that arrives at that gate by default.

Assign work group or employees

A complete work group or a selected set of skilled employees can be assigned to a gate, to execute the line package scheduled for an aircraft at work unit level or line package level.
