Assigning work group or employees
This page allows you to assign a work group, or selected employees, to execute the line package, at line package level or work unit level. Tell me more.
Select the “Assign Work Group / Employee(s)” link in the “Plan Gate Maintenance” page.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Work Unit Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number. |
Station # |
The number identifying the selected station. |
Flight # |
The number identifying the flight corresponding to the selected station. |
Leg # |
The number identifying the leg. |
Enter the following:
Work Unit # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the work unit. The system lists all the work units that are part of the line package and available in the central planning tray, and the option “Line Package”. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the employee assignment details, if any, for the selected work unit.
The system retrieves the details of the work group that is assigned to perform the line package, for the given flight number, leg number, plan date and station.
The system displays the following field:
Flight Date |
The date on which the flight is scheduled. |
Enter the following fields in the “Work Group Assignment Details” group box:
Work Group # |
The number identifying the work group to be assigned to the gate. The work group must be a valid work group number with applicability as “Line” as defined in the “Hangar Maintenance” business component and should be in “Active” status on the given flight date. Help facility available. |
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the work center that is applicable for the execution of the work unit. The system lists all the work centers belonging to the selected station By default, the system displays the work center to which the login user is mapped. |
The system displays the following field:
Name |
The name associated to the work group. |
Enter the following fields:
Hours / Day |
The number of hours per day for which the work group must be assigned to the gate (Time Format). The value entered in this field must be greater than zero. |
Assign: From Date & Time |
The date and time from which the work group must be assigned to the gate (Date & Time Format). The date and time entered here should not be earlier than the current system date and time. |
Assign: To Date & Time |
The date and time till which the work group must be assigned to the gate (Date & Time Format). The date and time entered in this field must be later than the “Assign: From Date & Time”. |

Enter the following fields in the “Default Details” group box:
Assign: From Date & Time |
The default date and time from which he employee must be assigned to the gate (Date & Time Format). |
Assign: To Date & Time |
The default date and time till which the employee must be assigned to the gate (Date & Time Format). |
Hours / Day |
The default time period for which the employee must be assigned to the gate, for each day (Time Format). The value entered in this field must be greater than zero. |
Assignment Comments |
The default comments relating to the assignment of the employee to the gate (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Enter the following details in the “Employee Assignment Details” multiline:
Employee # |
The number identifying the employee (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. The employee number must be a valid employee in the “Employee Information” business component and mapped to the work center. |
From Date |
The date starting from which the employee must be assigned to the gate (Date Format). |
From Time |
The time from which the employee must be assigned to the gate (Time Format). |
To Date |
The date till which the employee must be assigned to the gate (Date Format). |
Note: You must enter the “From Date”, “From Time” and “To Date” fields, if you have not entered the “Assign: From Date & Time” and “Assign: To Date & Time” fields.
Note: Ensure that the “Employee #”, “From Date” and “From Time” combination is not duplicated in the multiline.
The system displays the following field:
To Time |
The time till which the employee must be assigned to the gate. |
Enter the following field:
Hours / Day |
The number of hours per day for which the employee must be assigned (Time Format). |
The system displays the following field:
Assignment Type |
The type of assignment of the work group or employees to the gate. |
Enter the following field:
Assignment Comments |
Any general information relating to the assignment of the work group or employees to the gate (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The system displays the following fields:
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
Work Center # |
The work center to which the employee is mapped. |
Primary Skill # |
The primary skill possessed by the employee. |
Resource Group |
The resource group pertaining to the employee. |
Productivity Factor |
The productivity factor of the employee. |
Note: Ensure that at least one record exists in the multiline.
Click the “Assign” pushbutton to assign the selected work group or employees to the gates.
Note: The system ensures that a line package exists for the flight, leg, flight date and station number.
Note: The system displays an error message, if any other concurrent user attempts to simultaneously modify the employee assignment details in the multiline.
The system updates the employee assignment details for the work unit number or line package, for the flight number, leg number, plan date and station number combination.
Assigning work group or employees – An overview
This page allows you to assign a work group or a selected set of skilled employees belonging to a work group to execute the line package at work unit level or line package level, provided the work unit is a part of the line package. The employee assignment can be done for a specified date and time range.
