Managing logistics quick codes
This page allows you to define the quick code values for the different quick code types.
Select the “Manage Logistics Quick Codes” activity under the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
The "Manage Logistics Quick Codes” page appears.
Note: On launching the page the system hides the “Default?”, “Mandatory?” and “Applicable on?” fields and disables "Update All Ref. Doc. Sub Types" check box.
Select the following in the “Select Quick Code Type” group box to retrieve the quick code specified for the combination.

Enter the following in the “Quick Code Details” multiline:
Quick Code |
A unique identifier for the quick code (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. This code must be unique for the Quick Code Type – Ref. Doc. Type – Ref. Doc. Sub Type combination. The system ensures that a value exists in this field if “Description” field is entered. The system ensures that the existing value is neither modified nor duplicated. The system ensures that the value entered does not exist in any of the reference document, if the Ref. Doc. Sub Type is left blank. |
Description |
A textual description for the quick code (Alphanumeric, 80). Mandatory. The system ensures that description is entered if “Quick Code” field is entered. |
Station |
The station that is mapped with the delivery point. Mandatory. Help facility available. Note: This field appears only if the ‘Quick Code Type’ is selected as “Delivery Point”. |
Default? |
Use the drop-down list box to select the default value “Yes” or “No” to set the quick code as the default value for the quick code type. This quick code set as Default “Yes” will be used in transactions where the quick code type is blank. The system leaves the field blank by default. The system ensures that this field is not selected as "Yes" for more than one quick code under the quick code type. If Blank is selected, system considers it as “No”. |
Mandatory? |
Check this box to indicate whether data entry for the quick code is mandatory in activities. |
Applicable On? |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the quick code is applicable at the Document level or Part level. Mandatory. The system displays the following options:
If the quick code is applicable at part level, you must enter the value for the quick code for all the parts in the transaction. If the quick code is applicable at document level, you must enter the value for the quick code only once in the transaction. Note that the system displays the 'Applicable On' drop-down box, if "Pool Category", "Pool User Status", "Inspection Checklist", "Supplementary Info - Receipt" or "Supplementary Info – Inspection is selected as the “Quick Code Type”. Ensure that the value in this field is not modified from 'Specific Part' to 'Document' or 'All Parts' if parts are associated to the Inspection Check List.

Indicates whether parts are associated with the Inspection Checklist. The system displays the following values:

Enter the following in the “Quick Code Details” multiline:
Recorded at Srl/Lot |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the Inspection Check List details are recorded at serial or Lot level. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”. Leave this field blank if “Document” is specified as “Applied On”. |
Status |
The status of the quick code which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default. |
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The code of the login user who created the logistics quick code. |
Created Date |
The date when the logistics quick code was created. |
Last Modified By |
The code of the login user who last modified the logistics quick code information. |
Last Modified Date |
The date when the logistics quick code details was last modified. |
Select the following.
Update All Ref. Doc. Sub Types |
Check the box to indicate all quick codes under the quick code type are applicable to all reference documents grouped under the reference document type regardless of the reference document sub type. Note: If Ref. Doc. Sub Type is left blank, the system enables and checks the “Update All Ref. Doc. Sub Type” check box. |

Check the box in the multiline, to mark the logistics quick code for deletion
Click the “Save” pushbutton, to save the logistics quick code details.
Select the “Associate Parts” link at the bottom of the page to associate parts to quick codes.
