The “Maintain Quick Codes” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date is displayed in this page. This format is displayed as defined in the “User Preference” business component.

Quick Code Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type for which the quick code must be created. The system lists the options “Document Category”, “Document Class”, “Document Nature”, “Document Purpose”, “Source Type”, “Media”, “Library Category”, “Revision Implications”, “Rev. Action Status”, “Ack. User Status”, “Correspondence Category” and “Correspondence Status”.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the quick code. The system provides the options “Active” and “Inactive”. The system leaves the field blank by default.

Quick Code

A unique identifier of the quick code (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory.

Description

The textual description of the quick code (Alphanumeric, 80).

Default?

Use the drop-down list box to select “Yes” to set the default quick code. Else select the option “No”. The system displays “No” by default.

Status

The status of the quick code, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default.

Note: Ensure that only one quick code is set with  default as “Yes” at a time.

Note: The status of the quick code must be set as “Active”, if the “Default?” field is set as “Yes” for the quick code.

The system displays the following details in the multiline:

Created By

The name of the login user who created the quick code.

Created Date

The date on which the quick code was created.

Last Modified By

The name of the login user who last  updated the details of the quick code.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the quick code details was last modified.

Note: Ensure that atleast one record is selected in the multiline.

Mandatory?

Use the drop-down list box and select “Yes”, to specify  that the selected quick code type will be a mandatory field to be selected/entered in various operations to be performed in different user-interfaces of Library and Library Operations business component. Else select the option “No”.

The system leaves the field blank by default.

Note: You cannot delete or modify an existing quick code name. Its status can be set as active or inactive. However existing quick code’s details can be modified/updated..

Note: The system displays an error message, if any other concurrent user attempts to modify the quick code details in this page, or if the quick code type in the header field is changed after quick codes have been searched and fetched in the multiline.
