Release of an Engineering Document signifies the end of the Engineering Document authorizing process; a “Released” engineering document will be available for execution planning. Once the engineering document is released, the system automatically

• updates tasks details

• updates configuration details

• generates the purchase request for the parts that are required for executing the engineering document.

Update Tasks- Depending upon the tasks identified for the engineering document, the system automatically creates new tasks or modifies the existing task details. When an existing task is modified, the system creates a new revision number for the task, depending upon the option settings.

Update Configuration Details - Depending upon the options set in the “Create Engineering Document” activity, the system updates the logical configuration of the aircraft and components. The physical configuration will be updated when the engineering document is executed. The system will also, accordingly update the interchangeability rule of the position code, depending upon the interchangeability rules identified.
