Entering serial effectivity details for change request
This page allows you to add or modify the serial number effectivity for each part identified for the change request. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Serial No Effectivity” link at the bottom of the “Edit Part No Effectivity” page.
The “Edit Serial No Effectivity” page appears.
Note: Ensure that the part effectivity details are already defined for the engineering document in the “Edit Part No Effectivity” page.
The system displays the following fields in the “MCM Details” group box:
MCM # |
The MCM who have processed the change request document. |
MCM Status |
The MCM status of the change request which could be “Draft”. |
Change Request # |
The change request number for which the serial effectivity details must be entered. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the change request. |
Change Doc Type |
The type of the change request, which could be “MCR”. |
Enter the following field:
Part # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part number for which the serial number effectivity must be defined. The system lists all the part numbers, for which the change request and the revision number combination, is applicable. |
The system displays the following field:
User Status |
The user defined status of the change document. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the serial number effectivity details that have already been defined for the part.
Enter the following fields in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part Serial # |
The serial number of the part for which the change request is applicable (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The serial number should have already been identified in the “Maintain Part # Information” of the “Aircraft” business component and the serial number should be in “Active” status. Ensure that the serial number is unique in the multiline. |
Manufacturer Serial # |
The serial number of the part manufacturer (Alphanumeric, 40). The manufacturer serial number must have already been defined in the “Maintain Part # Information” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. |
Component # |
The component ID of the part and serial number combination. The component ID should have already defined in the “Maintain Part # Information activity of the “Aircraft” business component. |
Applicability Group |
Use the drop-down list to modify the applicability group based on which the change request must be processed. The system lists all the applicability group numbers that are defined in the “Edit Component Effectivity” page of the “Create MCR” activity of the “Maintenance Change Request” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Note: Ensure that atleast one serial number is entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the multiline to mark the serial number for deletion.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the serial numbers selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Effectivity” pushbutton to update the effectivity details.
Entering serial effectivity details for change request - An overview
This page allows you to add or modify the serial number effectivity for each part identified for the change request. An applicability group number is created for this group of components, to indicate the set of components for which the compliance details, configuration changes, resources required etc., are applicable.
In this page, you can modify the applicability group number that is already associated to the component.
The system updates the component effectivity details and sets the last modified date to the server date.
Identify components for which the change request is applicable
Associate the component to a different applicability group
Identify components for which the change request is applicable
You can specify the components for which the change request is applicable.
Enter the part serial number, manufacturer serial number and the component ID, in the respective fields in the “Part Details” multiline.
Associate the component to a different applicability group
Components are grouped based on their manufacturer serial numbers, in the “Maintenance Change Request” business component.
In this page, you can modify the applicability group number that is already associated to the component. The engineering document inherits details such as the concurrent requirements, task, subtask, kit, resource and tool requirements, configuration changes, weight and balance information, publications affected, and other references that are already defined for the selected applicability group:
Select the applicability group, in the “Applicability Group #” drop-down list box in the “Part Details” multiline.
