Entering work area or zone information for engineering document task

In this page, you can add or modify the work area or the zone where the task has to be executed. Tell me more.

Select the “Edit Work Area / Zone Information” link at the bottom of the “Edit Task Information” page.

The “Edit Work Area / Zone Information” page appears.

The system displays the following in the "Eng Doc Details" group box:

Eng Doc #	The engineering document selected in the main page.
Revision #	The revision number of the engineering document.
Subject	The textual description of the engineering document.
Applicability	The applicability of the engineering document, which could be “Aircraft”, “Component” or “Engine”.

Enter the following field:

Task #

Use the drop-down list box to select the task for which the work area or zone details must be specified. The system displays all the “new” and “improvised” tasks that are defined in the “Edit Task Details” page.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:

Task Description

The textual description of the selected task.

Enter the following field:

Work Area / Zone

Use the drop-down list box to specify where the task has to be carried out, whether in a “Work Area” or in a “Zone”. The system sets the field to “Work Area” by default.

The system displays the following field:

Aircraft Model #

The aircraft model to which the engineering document – task is associated

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the work area or zone information that is already defined for the selected Engineering Document task, in the multiline.

Enter the following fields in the “Work Area / Zone Details” multiline, to add work areas and zones for the selected Engineering Document task:

Work Area / Zone #	The work area or the zone where the engineering document task must be executed. (Alphanumeric, 15).
	Help facility available.
	If you are specifying a work area, the work area number should have already been defined in the “Create Work Area” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business component and the status should be “Active”.
	If you are specifying a zone, the zone number should have already defined in the “Create Zone” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and the status should be “Active.
	The work area or zone number should be unique in the multiline.
	The work area or zone number must be defined for the aircraft model selected in the “Aircraft Model #” field.

Note: The system does not allow you to modify an already associated work area or zone number. To delete associated work area or zone, check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline and click the "Delete" button.

The system fills in the following field on clicking the “Edit Work Area / Zone Information” pushbutton:

Description

The textual description of the work area or zone.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the work area or zone for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the work areas or zones selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Work Area / Zone Information” pushbutton to update the details.

Entering work area or zone information for engineering document task– An overview

In this page, you can add or modify the work area or the zone where the task has to be executed. Work area is the physical location where the work has to be carried out. This can be inside or outside the aircraft. Zones are the different areas inside the aircraft. You can select the task for which the work area or zone must be defined and enter the work area or zone number.

The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.

Identify work area or zone for tasks of engineering document

The work area or zone in which the engineering document - task must be carried out, can be specified.

Select the task in the “Task #” drop-down list box.
Set the “Work Area / Zone” field to “Work Area”, if you wish to execute the task in the work area.
Set the “Work Area / Zone” field to “Zone”, if you wish to execute the task in the zone.
Enter the work area or zone numbers in the “Work Area / Zone Details” multiline.
Click the “Edit Work Area / Zone Information” pushbutton to update the details.
