Entering component configuration changes due to engineering document execution
This page allows you to specify the levels in which the existing part number has to be changed in the component configuration. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Component Config. Change Details” link at the bottom of the “Edit Configuration Change Information” page.
The “Edit Component Configuration Change Information” page appears.
Note: You can invoke this page, only if the Applicability of the Engineering Document is “Engine” or “Component”.
The system displays the following in the "Eng Doc Details" group box:
Eng. Doc # |
The engineering document selected in the main page. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the engineering document. |
Subject |
The textual description of the engineering document. |
Enter the following field:
Component # |
Use the drop-down list to select the component for which the configuration change details must be updated. The system lists all the components that are applicable for the engineering document and the revision number combination, with ‘Applicable?’ set as “Yes” in the “Effectivity” tab of the “Manage Engineering Document” activity. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the configuration changes that are already defined for the engineering document, revision number and the component combination.
The system displays the following field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:
Revision # |
The revision number of the component configuration. |
The system displays the following field in the “Configuration Change Details” multiline, for the selected part number.
Level Code |
The code identifying the level at which the position code and the existing part number occurs in the component configuration hierarchy. |
Position Code |
The position code to which the existing part is associated. |
Existing Part # |
The part that is currently fitted in the position code and which must be replaced. |
Existing Part Serial # |
The serial number of the part. |
NHA Part # |
The number identifying the parent part, which is otherwise, called the next higher assembly. |
New Part # |
The part number that will replace the existing part. |
Part Type |
The part type of the existing part, which could be “Component” or “Expendables”. |
Position Description |
The textual description of the position in which the new part is to be attached. |
Qty. |
The quantity of the part in the piece part configuration. |
Position Status |
The status of the position, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. |
ATA # |
The system on which the part replacement must be done. |
Note: ‘Position Description’, ‘Qty.’ and ‘Position Status’ are applicable for piece parts.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the level for which the existing part should not be replaced.
Click the Delete icon provided in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the level code selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Config. Details” pushbutton to update the component configuration change details.
Entering component configuration changes due to engineering document execution – An overview
In this page, you can specify the levels in which the existing part number has to be changed in the component configuration. On selecting the component number for which the engineering document is applicable, the system displays all the levels in which the existing part number appears in the component configuration.
Details such as the level number, position code, existing part number, serial number of the part, next higher assembly, new part that must be fitted instead of the existing part, and the system in which the part has to be changed, are displayed. You can select the level in which the part number must not be changed and delete the level from the multiline. For all the other level numbers appearing in the multiline, the part will be changed when the engineering document is executed.
The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.

Select the component ID in the “Component #” drop-down list box.
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the levels in which the existing part number appears in the component configuration.
The system displays the levels in which the part serial number occurs in the component configuration.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the level in which the existing part must not be changed.
Click the Delete icon provided in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the level code selected in the multiline
