Using Online Help

This page allows you to specify the levels in which the existing part number has to be changed in the part configuration. Tell me more.

The “Edit Part Configuration Change Information” page appears.

Note: You can invoke this page, only if the Applicability of the Engineering Document is “Engine” or “Component”.

The system displays the following in the "Eng Doc Details" group box:

Eng. Doc #

The engineering document selected in the main page

Revision #

The revision number of the engineering document.

Subject

The textual description of the engineering document.

Part #

Use the drop-down list box to select the part for which the configuration change details must be updated. The system lists all the parts that are applicable for the engineering document and the revision number combination.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:

Revision #

The revision number of the part configuration that is in “Active” status.

The system displays the following fields in the “Configuration Change Details” multiline, for the selected part number.

Level Code

The code identifying the level at which the position code and the existing part number occurs in the part configuration hierarchy.

Position Code

The position code to which the existing part is associated.

Existing Part #

The part that is currently fitted in the position code.

Entering part configuration changes due to engineering document execution – An overview

Edit Engineering Order - A summary of the activity

In this page, you can specify the levels in which the existing part number has to be changed in the part configuration. On selecting the part number for which the engineering document is applicable, the system displays all the levels in which the existing part number appears in the part configuration.

Details such as the level number, position code, existing part number, serial number of the part, next higher assembly, new part that must be fitted instead of the existing part, and the system in which the part has to be changed, are displayed. You can select the level in which the part number must not be changed and delete the level from the multiline. For all the other level numbers appearing in the multiline, the part will be changed when the engineering document is released or executed, depending upon the update option selected in the “Edit Configuration Change Information” page.

The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
