Entering model configuration changes due to engineering document execution
This page allows you to specify the levels in which the existing part number must be changed in the model configuration. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Model Config. Change Details” link at the bottom of the “Edit Configuration Change Information” page.
The “Edit Model Configuration Change Information" page appears.
Note: You can invoke this page, only if the Applicability of the Engineering Document is “Aircraft”.
The system displays the following field in the "Eng Doc Details" group box:
Eng. Doc # |
The engineering document selected in the main page. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the engineering document. |
Subject |
The textual description of the engineering document. |
Enter the following field:
Aircraft Model |
Use the drop-down list box to select the aircraft model for which the configuration changes must be updated. The system lists all the models that are applicable for the engineering document and the revision number combination. |
Configuration Class |
Use the drop-down list box to select the configuration class for which the configuration changes must be updated. The system lists all the configuration classes that are defined for the selected model. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the configuration class details that are already defined for the engineering document, revision number, model number and configuration class combination.
The system displays the following field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:
Revision # |
The revision number of the aircraft model configuration that is in the “Active” status. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Configuration Change Details” multiline, for the selected aircraft model and configuration class:
Level Code |
The code identifying the level at which the position code and the existing part number occurs in the model configuration hierarchy. |
Position Code |
The position code to which the existing part is associated. |
Existing Part # |
The part currently fitted in the position code. |
NHA |
The number identifying the parent part, which is otherwise, called the next higher assembly. |
New Part # |
The part number that will replace the existing part. |
ATA # |
The system on which the part replacement must be done. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the level in which the existing part must not be changed.
Click the Delete icon provided in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the level code selected in the multiline.

Entering model configuration changes due to engineering document execution – An overview
In this page, you can specify the levels in which the existing part number must be changed in the model configuration, as a result of the engineering change. On selecting the aircraft model and configuration class, the system displays all the levels in the model configuration, in which the existing part number appears.
Details such as the level number, position code, existing part number, next higher assembly, new part to be fitted instead of the existing part, and the system in which the part has to be changed are displayed. You can select the level at which the part number must not be changed and delete it from the multiline. For all the other level numbers appearing in the multiline, the part number will be changed when the engineering document is released or executed, depending upon the ”Update Model / Part Configuration” option selected in the “Edit Configuration Change Information” page.
The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
