Using Online Help

This page allows you to  specify the levels in which the existing part number has to be changed in the aircraft configuration. Tell me more.

The “Edit Aircraft Configuration Change Information” page appears.

Note: You can invoke this page, only if the Applicability of the Engineering Document is “Aircraft”.

The system displays the following in the "Eng Doc Details" group box:

Eng. Doc #

The engineering document selected in the main page.

Revision #

The revision number of the engineering document.

Subject

The textual description of the engineering document.

Manufacturer #

Use the drop-down list box to select the manufacturer of the aircraft. The system lists all the aircraft manufacturer codes associated to the aircraft models which are defined as effective, with ‘Applicable?’ set as “Yes” in the “Effectivity” tab of the “Manage Engineering Document” activity.

Variable Tab #

Use the drop-down list box to select the tab number of the aircraft. The system lists all the aircraft tab numbers that are applicable for the engineering document and the revision number combination.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:

Revision #

The revision number of the aircraft configuration that is in the “Active” status.

Aircraft Reg #

The aircraft registration number corresponding to the tab number selected in the “Variable Tab #” field.

The system displays the following in the “Configuration Change Details” multiline for the selected tab number:

Level Code

The code identifying the level at which the position code and the existing part number occurs in the aircraft configuration hierarchy.

Position Code

The position code to which the existing part is associated.

Existing Part #

The part currently fitted in the position code.

Existing Part Serial #

The serial number of the part.

NHA Part #

The number identifying the parent part, which is otherwise, called the next higher assembly.

New Part #

The part number that will replace the existing part.

Part Type

The part type of the existing part, which could be “Component” or “Expendables”.

Position Description

The textual description of the position in which the new part is to be attached.

Qty.

The quantity of the part in the piece part configuration,

Position Status

The status of the position, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”.

ATA #

The system on which the part replacement must be done.

Note: ‘Position Description’, ‘Qty.’ and ‘Position Status’ are applicable for piece parts.

Entering aircraft configuration changes due to engineering document execution – An overview

Edit Engineering Order - A summary of the activity

In this page, you can specify the levels in which the existing part number has to be changed in the aircraft configuration. On selecting the aircraft tab number for which the engineering change is applicable, the system displays all the levels in which the existing part number appears in the aircraft configuration.

Details such as the level number, position code, existing part number, serial number of the part, next higher assembly, new part that must be fitted instead of the existing part, and the system in which the part has to be changed, are displayed. You can select the level in which the part number must not be changed and delete the level from the multiline. For all the other level numbers appearing in the multiline, the part will be changed when the engineering document is executed.

The system updates the details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
