Selecting engineering document for entering schedule details
In this page, you can search for a engineering document for which the schedule details must be modified. Tell me more.
Select the “Prepare Modification Plan” link under the “Engineering Document” business component.
The “Select Engineering Document” page appears.
Enter the following in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the engineering document number and the revision number for which the schedule details has to be modified:

The revision number of the engineering document (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Select the “Initialize Eng. Doc. Schedules” link at the bottom of the page, to modify the schedule details for the aircraft or components of the aircraft.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a engineering document. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Eng. Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the Eng.Doc Type. The system lists the user defined "Document Types" in “Active” status for the "Eng. Doc Type" in the interacting “Configure Document Attributes” activity of the “Common Master” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Exe. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the execution type. The valid options are “Major”, “Minor” and Blank. The system displays ”Blank” by default. |
Eng. Doc # |
The engineering document number for which you wish to retrieve the details (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering document numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Eng. Doc. Rev # |
The revision number of the engineering document for which the details are to be modified (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the engineering documents with revision numbers similar to the number entered here. |
Subject |
The description of the engineering document to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character (Alphanumeric, 150). The system lists all the engineering documents containing descriptions similar to the description entered here. |
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the applicability of the engineering document to be retrieved. The engineering document could be applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve details of engineering document irrespective of their applicability. The system sets the field to “Aircraft” by default. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter on which engineering document has to be executed (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents containing ATA chapter number similar to the value entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the engineering documents irrespective of the ATA chapter number. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the engineering document. The system lists all the user statuses of type “Eng Doc - User Status” that are defined in the “Create Quick Code” activity. The system retrieves all the engineering documents that are in the user status specified here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve engineering documents irrespective of the user status. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents applicable to the aircraft registration number entered here. |
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents applicable to the aircraft model specified here. |
Part # |
The number identifying the part for which the engineering document is applicable (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents that are applicable for the part specified here. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which the engineering document is applicable (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents that are applicable for the component specified here. |

The source or modification document of the engineering document. |

The ATA chapter number on which the engineering document has to be performed. |
Category |
The category to which the engineering document belongs. |
Subject |
The textual description of the engineering document. |
