Selecting engineering document for entering schedule details

Select the “Prepare Modification Plan” link under the “Engineering Document” business component.

The “Select Engineering Document” page appears.

Enter the following in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the engineering document number and the revision number for which the schedule details has to be modified:

Eng. Doc #	The engineering document number for which the schedule details must be entered (Alphanumeric, 18).
Revision #	The revision number of the engineering document (Alphanumeric, 40).

Select the “Initialize Eng. Doc. Schedules” link at the bottom of the page, to modify the schedule details for the aircraft or components of the aircraft.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a engineering document. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Eng. Doc Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the Eng.Doc Type. The system lists the user defined "Document Types" in “Active” status for the "Eng. Doc Type" in the interacting “Configure Document Attributes” activity of the “Common Master” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default.
Exe. Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the execution type. The valid options are “Major”, “Minor” and Blank. The system displays ”Blank” by default.
Eng. Doc #	The engineering document number for which you wish to retrieve the details (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering document numbers that are similar to the value entered here.
Eng. Doc. Rev #	The revision number of the engineering document for which the details are to be modified (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the engineering documents with revision numbers similar to the number entered here.
Subject	The description of the engineering document to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character (Alphanumeric, 150). The system lists all the engineering documents containing descriptions similar to the description entered here.
Applicability	Use the drop-down list box to specify the applicability of the engineering document to be retrieved. The engineering document could be applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve details of engineering document irrespective of their applicability. The system sets the field to “Aircraft” by default.
ATA #	The ATA chapter on which engineering document has to be executed (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents containing ATA chapter number similar to the value entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the engineering documents irrespective of the ATA chapter number.
User Status	Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the engineering document. The system lists all the user statuses of type “Eng Doc - User Status” that are defined in the “Create Quick Code” activity. The system retrieves all the engineering documents that are in the user status specified here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve engineering documents irrespective of the user status.
Aircraft Reg #	The registration number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents applicable to the aircraft registration number entered here.
Aircraft Model #	The number identifying the aircraft model (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents applicable to the aircraft model specified here.
Part #	The number identifying the part for which the engineering document is applicable (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents that are applicable for the part specified here.
Component #	The number identifying the component for which the engineering document is applicable (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the engineering documents that are applicable for the component specified here.

Click the “Search” pushbutton, to display the search results.

The system retrieves only those records that are in “Fresh” status.

The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

Eng. Doc. Type	The type of engineering document.
Eng. Doc #	The engineering document retrieved by the system.
Eng.Doc Rev. #	The revision number of the engineering document that helps in tracing the changes made to the engineering document..
Applicability	Indicates whether the engineering document is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Component” or “Engine”.
Exe Type	The type of execution, whether “Major” or “Minor”.
Status	The status of the engineering document, which could be “Fresh”.
User Status	The user status of the engineering document.
Source Doc Type	The source or modification document of the engineering document.
ATA #	The ATA chapter number on which the engineering document has to be performed.
Category	The category to which the engineering document belongs.
Subject	The textual description of the engineering document.

The system displays the following fields in the “Employee Details” group box:

Employee #	The code of the currently logged in employee.
Employee Name	The name of the employee.

To proceed, carry out the following

Select the checkbox against the record(s) in the multiline for which you require to initialize engineering document schedule details.
Select the “Initialize Eng. Doc. Schedules” link at the bottom of the page, to modify the schedule details for aircrafts/components.

Note: The system ensures that you selected atleast one record in the multiline.
