Selecting part number for updating configuration
This page allows you to select a part for which the configuration details must be updated. Tell me more
Select the “Build Part Configuration” link under the “Configuration” business component.
The “Select Part Number” page appears.
Enter the following field, if you know the part number for which the configuration details must be defined:
Part # |
The part for which the configuration details must be defined (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the part has already been defined of type “Component” in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Parts Administration” business component and is in “Active” status. |
Select the “Build Part Configuration” link displayed alongside to update the part configuration.
Search for a part
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a part for which you want to record/modify configuration. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Part # |
The part for which the configuration details must be defined (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Base Part # |
The base part number of the part for which the configuration details must be defined (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the base part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts whose base part numbers are similar to the value entered here. |
Mfr. Part#/Mfr. # |
The manufacturer part # of the part in the first input box. You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The manufacturer # of the part in the second input box. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts with manufacturer part and manufacturer #s similar to the value entered here. |
ATA # Like |
The ATA chapter, to which the part for which the configuration details must be defined, belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the parts whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the value entered here. |
Manufacturer |
The manufacturer of the part (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the name of the manufacturer in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the parts whose manufacturer names are similar to the value entered here. |
NHA Part # |
The number identifying the parent part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly (Alphanumeric, 40). |
NHA Mfr. Part #/NHA Part Mfr. #

The manufacturer part # of the parent part or the next higher assembly in the first input box (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part# allotted by the manufacturer to the parent part in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all parts with parent parts whose manufacturer part numbers are similar to the value entered here. |

The number identifying the manufacturer of the parent part or the next higher assembly in the second input box. You can enter the manufacturer # for the parent part or next higher assembly in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all parts with parent parts whose manufacturer #numbers are similar to the value entered here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
Note: The system lists all the “Active” status parts of type “Component” in the multiline if all the search criteria fields are left blank.
The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

The status of the part configuration which could be “Fresh” or “Active”. |

Selecting part number for updating configuration – An overview
This page allows you to select a part for which the configuration details must be updated. If you know the part number for which you wish to update the configuration details, you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the part number, base part number, ATA chapter number and manufacturer of the aircraft. You can also search for a part by specifying the next higher assembly of the part number, which is otherwise the parent part number, in the search criteria. The details of the selected part, such as the part number, description, base part, component modification status and the manufacturer of the aircraft are displayed. If the configuration details have already been defined for the part, the revision number and configuration status will also be displayed.
