Route Unserviceable Components/Parts – A summary of the activity

Through this activity, you can move unserviceable components/parts from one location to another prior to dispatch for maintenance. You can shift unserviceable components/parts from a warehouse/work center to another warehouse/work center.

Based on specific search criteria, you can retrieve unserviceable components/parts that you want to move to a new location.

Routing of unserviceable components/parts is usually carried out for one of following reasons:

• Internal repair

• External repair

• To shift such goods to a more convenient location

You can route unserviceable component/parts from

• A warehouse/work center to another work center

• A zone of a warehouse to zone and bin of another warehouse

• All zones of a warehouse to zone and bin of another warehouse

• All zones of all warehouses to zone and bin of another warehouse

However, you can route unserviceable components/parts from a warehouse/work center to another work center for internal repair only. The system generates Shop Work order for internal repair based on “Default Exec. Doc for Int. Repair Routing” specified for the part in 'Maintain Maintenance Info. for part' activity of Aircraft component.

Additionally, if the auto-generation of repair orders is enabled, you can retrieve those unserviceable parts / components for which repair orders were not automatically generated as a result of failure of the auto-generation rules. You can also display only those components / parts that failed auto-generation rules because of which execution orders were not generated. You can then re-evaluate auto-repair order generation rules that caused auto-generation failure and then re-generate repair orders in this activity.
