Selecting work scope for modification
This page allows you to select the work scope for modifying its details. Tell me more.
Select the "Edit Work Scope" link under the "Component Maintenance Planning" business component.
The "Select Work Scope" page appears.
Enter the following in the "Direct Entry" group box:
Work Scope # |
The number identifying the work scope that you wish to modify (Alphanumeric, 18). The work scope entered here should not be in the “Closed” status. |
Select the "Edit Work Scope" link provided alongside to modify the work scope details.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a work scope: (Data entry in these fields is optional.)
Work Scope # |

You can enter the work scope number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the work scope. The system lists the following options:

The system retrieves the entire work scope of the status specified here.
Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40) You can enter the part number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers with the part number entered here. |
Serial # |
The serial number for which the work scope is created (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the serial number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers with the serial number entered here |
Component # |
The component number for which the work scope is created (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the component number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers with the component number entered here. |
Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the user-defined category to which the work scope belongs. The system lists all the 'active' work scope categories created in the "Create Quick Codes" activity. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers of the category specified here. |
Execution Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the execution unit in which the work scope will be executed. The system lists all the organization units where the component maintenance planning can be done and the component work orders can be created. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers generated on the execution unit specified here. |
Primary Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the primary work center responsible for work scope execution. The system lists all the active work centers identified from the “Work Center” business component, for which the login user has been mapped. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Planner Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the planner group of the work scope. The system lists all the ‘active’ planner group in the component maintenance planning. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers that are having the planner group selected here. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the priority for the work scope. The system lists all the ‘active’ priority descriptions defined in the “Create Priority Numbers” activity of the “Common Master” business component. The system retrieves all the work scope numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Customer # |
The code identifying the customer (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Click the "Search" pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the "Search Results" multiline:
Note: The system retrieves all the work scopes that are in “Fresh”, “Partially Released” and “Released” status, only if a value is entered in either “Customer #” or “Customer Name” field.

Click the hyperlinked work scope number in the multiline to modify the work scope.
Note: Ensure that at least one work scope is selected in the multiline.
Close Work Scope
You can close only those work scopes that are in the “Released” status.
Note: Ensure that all the CWOs created with respect to the selected work scope are in “Closed”, “Cancelled” or “Pre-Closed” status.
Click the “Close Work Scope” pushbutton to close the work scope.
The system updates the status of the work scope to “Closed”.
Cancel Work Scope
You can cancel only a work scope, which is in the "Fresh" status and not in “Released” or “Partially Released” status. Also the work scope should not be associated with any component work order in the "Authorized" status. If the work scope is the source document for a component work order, ensure that the material is not requested or issued against the component work order.
Check the box in the "Select" column of the multiline to select the work scope for cancellation.
Click the "Cancel Work Scope" pushbutton to cancel the selected work scope.
Note: You cannot cancel the customer order based work scope.
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “Manage Work Scope” link at the bottom of the page, to process the work scope details.
Select the “Schedule/Reschedule Work Orders” link at the bottom of the page, to schedule or reschedule the component work order details.
Select the “Review Work Execution” link at the bottom of the page, to review the work execution details.
Select the “View Work Orders” link at the bottom of the page, to view the work order details.
Selecting work scope for modification - An overview
This page allows you to select the work scope for modifying its details. If you know the work scope number you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the work scope number, the status, the part number, the serial number, the component number, the category, the execution unit, the primary work center, the planner group and the priority. The system retrieves the search results in the multiline.
Cancel Work Scope
This page helps you cancel a work scope in the "Fresh" status. You can cancel only the work scope that is not associated with any component work order in the "Authorized" status. For fresh component work order, ensure that no material has been requested or issued against the component work order.
The system sets the status of the work scope as "Canceled".
