Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to assign pending jobs to the visit package that needs to be executed on the components. Tell me more.

The “Allocate Components to Visit Package” page appears.

Note: Ensure that the option “Allocation of On-Wing/ Component Jobs to Visit Package” is set as either “Component Planner” or “Component Planner & Central Planner ” in the “Set Options” activity.

Also ensure that a valid aircraft record is selected in the previous page.

The system displays the following field:

Job Source

The source of the work unit

On  Wing Component Jobs

The work unit is of the job type “On-wing” tasks.

Component Removal

The work unit is of the job type “Component Removal”.

EO / FCD Work Units

The work unit is a part of the work scope defined in an engineering order or a fleet campaign directive.

Deferred Work Units

The work unit is deferred from execution.

Opportunity Maintenance Work Units

The work unit forms a part of the opportunity checks to be carried out on the component.

Select All

Check this box to select all the options available in the “Job Source” field. The system retrieves all the pending work units to be executed on the component if you select this option. This box appears checked by default.

The system retrieves all the pending work units as per the search criteria. The pending work units include:

Note: If restoration work units are not defined for the components that are forecasted for removal, the system retrieves the component number alone without any work units.

Note: The system does not retrieve the work units that are pending after the scheduled date on which the component removal is scheduled.

The system displays the following details in the “Unassigned Work Unit Details” multiline:

Part #

The part number of the component on which the maintenance activity is performed

Serial #

The serial number of the component on which the maintenance activity is performed

Maintenance Type

The type of the maintenance work, such as overhaul, repair, others and inspection, to be performed on an aircraft

Work Unit Type

The type of the work unit, which could be “Task”, “Standard Procedure” or “Work Package”

Work Unit #

The work unit retrieved by the system

Schedule Date

The date on which the maintenance activity is scheduled to be performed on the aircraft

Last Performed Date

The date on which the work unit was last performed

Job Type

The job type of the work unit such as “Component Removal” and “On Wing”.

Basic Removal ?

Indicates whether the component removed is due to snag reported. The system displays “Yes” or “No”.

The system displays “Yes” or “No”.

Note :If the parent part number of the component is identified in the component maintenance program, then the system identifies the position in which the part is fitted and checks for any component attached to the position. If the component, for which the maintenance arising is forecasted, is fitted to that position, the system displays “No” in the above field. Otherwise, the system displays “Yes”.

Opport. Maint.?

Indicates whether the work unit pertains to the opportunity maintenance performed on the component or not.

Rem. Days

The number of days remaining before the forecasted arising of the pending work units. This is calculated as

Remaining Days= Scheduled date – Current server date

Rem. FH

The flying hours remaining before the forecasted arising of the pending work units. This value is retrieved from the forecast This is calculated as

Remaining FH= Next Scheduled Value of FH – Current FH

The current value is retrieved from the “Aircraft” business component.

Rem. FC

The flying cycles remaining before the forecasted arising of the pending work units. This value is retrieved from the forecast. This is calculated as

Remaining FC =Next Scheduled Value of FC – Current FC.

The current value is retrieved from the “Aircraft” business component

Job Source

The source of the job

The system displays one of the following:

  • Engineering Order – If the work units are derived from “EO” or “FCD”.

  • Deferred – If the work units are derived from the “Deferred List”.

Allocating components to aircraft visit package – An overview

Allocate Components to Package - A summary of the activity

After the work scope is finalized for the component, the planner allocates the component removals and on-wing inspections to the “Visit Package”. A visit package is an aggregation of all the maintenance activities that needs to be accomplished during the visit of an aircraft to the maintenance execution facility. This page allows you to allocate pending jobs to the visit package that needs to be executed on the components.

For the aircraft selected in the previous page, you can define the allocation of work unit details. You can carry out a search criteria to retrieve the pending work units that must be performed on the component. The work units can belong to any one of the job sources:

The system displays the pending work unit details recorded for the component in the respective business components according to the job source. You can select the work units and assign them an existing visit package, which is not in the "Closed" or "Canceled" status and whose visit type is “Planned”. The status of the work units is changed from “Pending” to “Allocated” on updating.
