Modifying opportunity check information for the component
While performing maintenance activity on a component, you might wish to carry out some work units along with some next arising of the component. These are one time maintenance activities. You can assign the selected work units to the component maintenance program, in order to carry out the maintenance activity.
Select the “Edit Opportunity Check Details” link at the bottom of the “Edit Component Maintenance Program Information” page.
The “Edit Opportunity Check Information” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields appears in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Component Details” group box:
Part # |
The number identifying the part to which the component belongs. |
Part Description |
The textual description of part. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which you need to enter work unit details. |
Maintenance Process |
Indicates the maintenance process associated with the part, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”. |
CMP Status |
The status of the component maintenance program, which could be “Fresh” or “Authorized”. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the component maintenance program. |
Enter the following in the “Work Unit Details” multiline:
Execute With |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate when the work unit is to be performed on the component. The system lists "Next Overhaul", "Next Repair", "Next Inspection" and "Next Shop-Visit" as options. |
Work Unit Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the work unit. The system lists "Task", "Standard Procedure" and "Work Package", as options. |
Work unit # |
The number identifying the work unit that is performed (Alphanumeric, .30). Ensure the work unit is already defined in the “Maintenance Task” business component and in the ‘Active” status and is valid for the specified work unit type. Help facility available |
Ensure the work unit number is unique in the multiline. Also ensure that the work units entered here are not entered in the component maintenance program.
To delete a work unit in the multiline, select the row and click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline.
Note: Deleting a work unit from the multiline will remove the association of the work unit with the opportunity check of the component maintenance program.
The system displays the following after you click the “Edit Opportunity Checks” pushbutton:

Performed Date |
The date on which the work unit is performed. |
Work Order # |
The number identifying the work order in which the work unit is listed. |
Work Center # |
The number identifying the work center where the work unit is performed. |
Execution Unit |
The number that identifies the organization unit in which the work unit is performed. |
Click the “Edit Opportunity Checks” pushbutton, to update the opportunity maintenance check information.
The system updates the details of the opportunity checks against the CMP and changes the status to "Fresh", if the CMP is currently in the "Authorized" status.
You can specify the work unit with the type of the work unit that is to be performed on the component as an opportunity maintenance. For example, you can specify the work unit as shelf life expired and perform maintenance forecast for the component in the inventory.
Set the “Work Unit Type” field as “Task”, if the work unit is of type “Task”.
Set the “Work Unit Type” field as “Standard Procedure”, if the work unit is of type “standard procedure”.
Set the “Work Unit Type” field as “Work Package”, if the work unit is of type “work package”.
