Entering material requirement for a work unit in component maintenance program
This page allow you to add or modify the details of the parts required for executing the work unit. Tell me more.
Select the “Estimate Materials” link at the bottom of the “Edit Component Maintenance Program Information” page.
The “Estimate Material Requirement” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Component Details” group box:
Part # |
The number identifying the part to which the component belongs |
Part Description |
The textual description of part. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which the spare part details are to be updated. |
Maintenance Process |
Indicates the maintenance process associated with the part, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”. |
CMP Status |
The status of the component maintenance program, which could be “Fresh” or “Authorized”. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the component maintenance program. |
Enter the following in the “Maintenance Activity Details” group box:
Work unit # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work unit for which the part requirement must be specified. The system lists all the work units that have been defined for the component maintenance program and prefixes it with “TSK”, “SP” or “WP” based on the type of the work unit. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the part details that are already defined for the work unit.
The system displays the following after you click the “Get Details” pushbutton:
Work Unit Desc |
The description of the task, standard procedure or work package. |
Maintenance Type |
The type of the maintenance activity to be carried out. |
Work Center # |
The number identifying the work center where the work unit is performed. |
Work Center Description |
The textual description of the work center. |
Enter the following field in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part # |
The number identifying the part required for executing the work unit (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The part should have already been defined in the "Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and must be in the “Active” status. |

Note: In the event of modifying the already associated part number, the system displays an error message.
The system displays the following field after you click the "Edit Material Estimates” pushbutton:
Part Type |
The type of the part involved in the CMP. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Enter the following fields:
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the part (Alphanumeric, 10). The unit of measurement must be a valid “Active” UOM for the part defined in the “Unit Of Measurement Administration” business component or you can enter any valid UOM defined for the part in the “Maintain UOM Conversions” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. |
Reqd. Qty |
The required quantity of the spare part to execute the work package (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Warehouse # |
The number identifying the warehouse where the part is required (Alphanumeric, 10). The warehouse should have already been defined in the "Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in the “Active” status. Ensure that the part is associated with the warehouse. If you have not selected any warehouse, the system displays the default warehouse mapped to the work center of the CMP through a single component work order. |

The system displays the following field after you click the “Edit Material Estimates” pushbutton:
Part Cost |
The cost of the part as defined in the “Part Administration” business component. |
Note: Ensure that at least one part detail is entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the parts for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline to delete the selected part.
Select the “Edit Material Estimates" pushbutton to update the part details for the work package.
Entering material requirement for a work unit in component maintenance program – An overview
You can add or modify the details of the parts required for executing the work unit in this page. On specifying the part number, the system displays the part type and description and allows you to modify the unit of measurement, required quantity and the warehouse in which the part must be issued. The part details are updated and the system sets the current server date as the last modified date, by default.
